Sometimes better to leave wedding tasks to professions...

I dont know what to do. I have asked my friend, a graphic designer to create and print our inviations. She is charging me $500 for 100 invitations. The price seems reasonable but I dont love the design. She created a Hawaiian design and I want something more scrollish/scriptish.
I already told her this but the second design was so close to the first design.

What should I do??
Should I send her some pictures?

you should honestly ask you to make you something more along the lines of what you're looking for. for the amount of money that she is charging you (which really isn't that cheap), you should def get something you love.

if i were you, i wouldn't settle.

She's not giving you that much of a break-I would def. make sure you get what you want

You should definitely show her exactly what you want---after all, you are paying her. She probably is just misunderstanding so send her a pic.

She is basically charging you $5 per invitation which isn't that big of a break. You should definatley show her your pics and get the design you want; don't settle. If she's charging you that much you have every right to be a satisfied customer. If she's a friend ask her if she can give you a bit of a break on pricing- it's always worth a shot and i'm sure she'd rather have your business then have you go elsewhere. Hope this helps

I would show her more of what I wanted. If my firend couldn't so the take I would just say, I know you have a lot going on right now, so I am going to go else where! I would just try to work it nicely!

I agree that you should speak up. Even if she were doing it for free I think you should have the final say in what your wedding invitation looks like!

You can approach this totally diplomatically and nicely though I understand why you have reservations. Go for it and let us know what happens : )

that doesn't really sound cheap at all, jmo. so i definitely wouldn't settle for something that's not what you want. did u show her the ones that u like?

I'd give her the opportunity to change it to what you want--she wants you to be happy! I agree with others, thats not a DIY price anyways.
