Song for Bridal Party/Our Entrance

HELP!! What songs is everyone using when the bridal party and then you and your new husband 'get announced' at the reception - I seem to be having a really hard time with this...I know I don't want the theme from Rocky! Thanks!

Good Question... I wish I had some ideas...

Do you have to give this to your DJ or Band? I am having a band and they only asked me if I wanted Low key or high energy - but I would like to know what they are going to play??

Good Question... I wish I had some ideas...

The DJ requested a song list and that was one of the choices we have to make - I would prefer to pick something rather than let the DJ run with this particular segment - although I have total confidence in him. I keep trying to think of upbeat, start the party songs that aren't too obnoxious...

Good Question... I wish I had some ideas...

Hi..I was thinkin of that same question. and came up with songs like Billy Joel's 'This is the Time', or Styx's 'The Best of Times'...or Starships 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now'..but I don't know how upbeat that would be to start a party.. I figured that one can be used when the bride and groom walk in. Allison

Song for Bridal Party/Our Entrance

We're having the same dilemma and our wedding is next month! These are some of the songs we're thinking about. Theme from the Odd Couple - kind of fits us and our humor. Plus Fi can quote the opening sequence about Felix's wife kicking him out on November 13th. We joke that if I ever throw him out it has to be on that date. Queen - You're my Best Friend - I liked that, but Fi doesn't think it's a good one for the entrance. I also found a song on a Silent Movie CD that was sort of a Parade March - up beat - no lyrics but it would get you smiling and it was a good entrance. He's got another one in mind that I can't recall - it was an 80's rock song. We'll be making our decision this weekend, and I'm planning a serious musical review, so if I remember, I'll post the final decision and the rejects. I hope I get some more good ideas from the postings here!

Song for Bridal Party

I went to a wedding a couple of weeks ago and the bridal party entered to Billy Idol`s White Wedding and the bride and groom came into Let`s Get Loud by Jennifer Lopez. Both were upbeat and definetly got the crowd going. We are still undecided too!

Song for Bridal Party/Our Entrance

We are actually having our attendants walk into different theme songs from old tv shows. Our BM and MOH (his brother and my sis)walk into the theme from the Family Feud. Other's will walk into What's Happening, Benny Hill, etc. My fiance and I had a ball figuring it out. Let you know how it goes over... Weddings next weekend!!

Song for Bridal Party/Our Entrance

We`ve been considering using the opening of Aerosmith`s Sweet Emotions for our parents/grandmother, then build into the intro to Blues Brothers` Gimme Some Lovin for the bridal party, then switch into the Blues Brother`s theme song for us. It will be a great transition of tempos, getting more upbeat and exciting as it goes along.

Song for Bridal Party/Our Entrance

I always get the best ideas from this board! Do you all think it would be boring if we walked in to the regular recessional song? We won't be having it at the church so I thought it might be nice with the bands 9 pieces playing it. What do you think?

Song for Bridal Party/Our Entrance

Amy, I think that is a great idea if you will not be having it earlier -- actually it's not a bad idea even if you are having it earlier. I've been doing some listening to song samples from Sports CDs...what do you guys think of some of these? - Get Ready For This - We Like To Party - Strike It Up - Boom Boom Boom - Everybody Dance Now Although I'm not sure if any of these is appropriate for my groom and myself!! HELP!

And while we are on the subject...Cake Cutting Songs

I'm using an idea Heather gave me.... 'Ice Cream' by Sarah McLaughlin for my cake cutting song. Lee, I like your choices for your entrance.....the trouble is narrowing it down because they're all upbeat and great!!!! (Personally 'Move it' is my fave)

Song for Entrance/Cake Cutting

Lee, If we had to vote on those songs, I`d say I prefer Get Ready for This and Everybody Dance Now. For our cake cutting, I`m not really sure. I keep changing my mind, but that`s okay, we have plenty of time. I was leaning toward James Taylor`s 'How Sweet It Is' but am trying to find something a little more unique. I really need to get one of those personal recorders. I hear things on the radio while driving, but then forget to write the names down when I get to where I`m going, so I completely lose the ideas!! :(

Song for Entrance/Cake Cutting

Our first dance was upbeat, so for our entrance we went with the theme from the A-Team, starting with 'In 1972, a crack-commando unit was sent to prison for a crime they didn't commit...' I have an mp3, if anyone wants. The cake song was 'Build Me Up, Buttercup' (one of my favorites).

Cake Cutting Idea!!!

Hi Kel, I don't have any ideas on an entrance song, I'm looking for one myself, but I do have a suggestion for the Cake Cutting! I heard it on my DJ's demo tape and really, really liked it. It just fit me and my fiance. It's the theme song from 'Mad About You.' My fiance and I have been together a really long time now, and we can truly relate to that show so much! Just an idea! We're going to use it for our cake cutting! Hope it helps!

Melissa - Cool Idea!

Mad About You was one of my favorite shows! My fiance and I have been together a long time too, and I do remember the song is cute, I just can`t recall the words ... I`ll have to find it on the web and refresh my memory. Thanks.

We are using We Are In Love by Harry Connick Jr. It doesn'r really 'go', but I love it and had to sneak it into the day somewhere!

Cake Cutting Idea!!!

My best friend used the Mad About You theme for her cake cutting! It worked so well! : ) She also had her bridal party introduced to the theme song from Friends. She and her husband met while she was on the couch watching Thursday night TV, so that was kind of their 'theme'.

Song for Bridal Party/Our Entrance

This idea is still in the works. I was thinking about for the bridal party entrance having the theme song from 'Friends' I'll be there for you- by the Rembrendts. Then when we enter-stop the music and play that song from the Jock Jams-Lets get ready to rumble. It think that will be cool. Because the music stops and then you hear the bell, and the announcer says- Ladies and gentleman, and now the main event- lets get ready to rumble. i dont know, what do you ladies think? '
