I like that new song ' I loved her first'...for a father /daughter dance. It's like a slow country song, you have prob. heard it....and I have no idea for first dance songs we didn't pick ours yet either

Re: Songs

I am using 'My Girl' to dance with my dad. He loves Oldies music and it was a perfect choice.

Re: Songs

How about a fast first dance? We used 'The First, The Last, My Everything' by Barry White. It really got everyone out of their seats and set the tone for a great party.

Re: Songs

Yeah, my DH and his mom danced to Taylor Hicks new song 'Do I Make You Proud' and it's an absolutely beautiful tearjerking song!

So new and so original too!

You can hear it here:

Re: Songs

I actually just heard a new Tim McGraw song, and I wanna say the title is My Little Girl....it almost rivals the Heartland one!!!!

Here's the lyrics

Gotta hold on easy as I let you go
Gonna tell you how much I love you though you think you already know
I remember I thought you looked like an angel wrapped in pink so soft and warm
You’ve had me wrapped around your finger since the day you were born

You beautiful baby from the outside in
Chase your dreams but always know the road that'll lead you home again
Go on take on this old world but to me you know you will always be
My little girl

When you were in trouble that crooked little smile would melt my heart of stone
Now look at you I’ve turned around and you’ve almost grown
Sometimes your asleep I whisper I love you in the moonlight at your door
As I walk away I hear you say “daddy love you more”

You beautiful baby from the outside in
Chase your dreams but always know the road that'll lead you home again
Go on take on this old world but to me you know you will always be
My little girl

Someday some boy will come and ask me for your hand
But I won’t say yes to him unless I know
He’s the half that makes you whole
He has a poets soul
And the heart of a mans man
I know he’ll say that he’s in love, but between you and me
He won’t be good enough

You beautiful baby from the outside in
Chase your dreams but always know the road that'll lead you home again
Go on take on this old world but to me you know you will always be
My little girl

Re: Songs

My dad chose Daughter of Mine, it's an Irish song, if he didn't choose that I liked Tora Lora Lora or Edelweiss...
As you can tell I am Irish & German & I love those old songs!

Other suggesstions would be Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, etc..

I actually found it 7 years ago when FH and I started dating I did a random internet search for songs with the word smoochie in it and that came up! haha O had to share because I love it and it is very different
