You could try kaaza though my FI doesn't like it much. Or songspy - he said that one is ok but I haven't really tried it yet.

I LOVE KAZAA, I find EVERY song I look for. Do you have DSL or CAble modem, then the songs download very fast.

Nope, it's totally free. Occasionally you get an add pop-up that you can X out of.
Also, if you have songs saved on your hard drive, it will allow people to download your songs. It's give and take. It's like Napster, a sharing system.

beware of kazaa...it will install programs onto your computer...like spyware and pop-up ads...to the extent that it fills your computer screen
