I lost my dad but cannot dance with my mom to a sad song - it would be too painful/depressing for us (I'm DEF a crier).. Instead we're gonna dance to a song she used to sing to us when we were younger - Puff the Magic Dragon and no, it's not about drugs!!!

I'm not a Mariah Carey fan, and i'm usually not a crier, but I CANNOT listen to 'Hero' without breaking down into a makeup-smeared, snorting, sobbing, bride-to-be. LOL I picture dancing with my dad and I just totally lose it. LOL

::cracking up:: I'm writing this and i've got tears in my eyes. Such a wuss. LOL

Aw!! At least I know now who I can FM if I need to cry online about not having my father around! lol

We're BIG cryers. but as for now, those are the songs. I know whatever song I have, we'll end up crying. Because we'll start talking about him while dancing.

We all know you LOVE puffing the MAGIC dragon! lmao

Never knew I could feel like this
Like I've never seen the sky before
I want to vanish inside your kiss
Every day I'm loving you more and more
Listen to my heart, can you hear it sings
Telling me to give you everything
Seasons may change, winter to spring
But I love you until the end of time

Come what may
Come what may
I will love you until my dying day

Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste
It all revolves around you
And there's no mountain too high
No river too wide
Sing out this song I'll be there by your side
Storm clouds may gather
And stars may collide
But I love you until the end of time

Come what may
Come what may
I will love you until my dying day

Oh, come what may, come what may
I will love you, I will love you
Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place

Come what may
Come what may
I will love you until my dying day

i am seriously wanting this for our wedding song!!!

I love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eric clapton-tears in heaven

Ooh, good one. Thinking about him singing that to his little boy who died by falling out his window, it always gives me chills.

There's a song called 'Days' by the Kinks covered by Kirsty MacColl and it's beatiful. When I need a good cry, I put the song on and imagine a person playing this at a funeral for their husband / wife...

Thank you for the days,
Those endless days, those sacred days you gave me.
I’m thinking of the days,
I won’t forget a single day, believe me.

I bless the light,
I bless the light that lights on you believe me.
And though you’re gone,
You’re with me every single day, believe me.

Days I’ll remember all my life,
Days when you can’t see wrong from right.
You took my life,
But then I knew that very soon you’d leave me,
But it’s all right,
Now I’m not frightened of this world, believe me.

I wish today could be tomorrow,
The night is dark,
It just brings sorrow anyway.

Nickle Creek -'The Lighthouse' (just thinking about it makes me tear)

i don't know it!

I meant to reply last night, but I got caught up. Such a sad song. Nickle Creek is kind of a country-ish/folk-ish band. I only heard about them because they opened for John Mayer at one of his concerts. Anyway, it sounds strange but go with it, the song is being told from the lighthouse's perspective and he's telling the story about his keeper and his love and how the relationship ended so tragicly........ i'm crying. Just download it and listen to the words... you'll cry!
