You are using Mark Kauffman, right? Are the pics in your signature on WC from your engagement shoot? I really like his work, but am kinda turned off that only half the proofs are included. That adds another $600 to the price. Do you mind telling me what levels of photographers you choose, and how comfortable they made you feel at the engagement shoot? My FH and I are not real comfortable taking pictures, so we are looking for someone who can catch us naturally, which is why his style is so appealing to us. Thanks so much. And I'm really happy to hear that everything is working out for you in the end. I can't imagine how stressed you've been the past few weeks....

Hi, I am also using Mark Kauffman. I booked Lynn and Roy (both Fine Arts level, so we paid a bit more). I know that Steph is using Lynn and Laura and they are also,both the higest level too. You should have more than 1/2 of your proofs included in the package. Mark does not limit the photographers to a certain amount of film like some studios do. That way they take the shots that they feel are important or beautiful. My package includes upto 1500 proofs. He states the average is around 1200 proofs on my contract. Steph's photos in your UW journal are the e-photos. I have a UW journal as well,if you want to look at my proofs. e-mail me [email protected] and I will send you my journal link. I have been very happy with the service and attention that Mark has given me. Scott and I have very happy with the quality of our e-photos. I will say that Mark is very easy to work with. If you have a cost concern just talk to him about it. He has always been very flexiable with me.

Yes, those photos I posted on WC are shots taken by Lynn from Mark Kauffman. Lynn is great - makes you feel very comfortable and Im sure she will be a doll to work with. When I booked Mark, he customized a package for me that included more proofs but less other stuff to suit my needs. If the photographers take more than 1000 shots, then i will have to shell out a few more bucks but Im sure each photo will be worth the cost. My second photographer is Laura - I have never meet her. I don't believe she is as high on the list as Roy but I don't really remember how they classify her. Both Mark and Lynn thought she would be a good fit for the style of photos we liked.

We are trying to finish up looking for a photographer soon, and it's all really confusing. I really liked Mark's photos in the video he provided, but it was the first pricing we'd seen, and my fiancee FLIPPED when he saw the prices. Now that we've started looking at some other ones, he's seeing that it's pretty similar pricing to get the casual, not stiffly posed photos that we like. I just get nervous about signing a contract with anyone, since this is really the most important thing to me. It's really the only thing from the day I'll have forever. Thanks again for answering my questions. Hopefully we can wrap this up soon, so I don't have to obsess over it any more!

I agree that your photographer is a big decision. Trust your instincts and meet with as many as you need to before making your final decision. Scott and I meet with 6-7 before signing a contract with Mark. We liked Mark's right away, but we wanted to see what else was out there before making a decision. Also, discuss price options with Mark. He is very flexible and lets you customize your package.

take the time to really be sure. I had seen several before visiting with Mark and we booked him on our first trip out there. There are lots of great photographers out there so the decision can be difficult. Who else are you considering? Of all the $$$, we're spending on this wedding (oh, so much!) - this is the one area where Im pretty confident I won't regret going high end.

But I met with Sherwood Triart yesterday and liked them, but they are more money than Mark. I'm going to see Fine Art and Paul Marino next week. We saw Wedding Group One today, but it wasn't our style. A lot of the stuff was more artsy than we are looking for. I don't know how to explain it. It seemed like a lot of the shots were done at a 45 degree angle, which just didn't appeal to me. I really have my heart set on Mark, and my fiance admitted today that his prices aren't that rediculous, and his work (at least what we saw on the video) is really nice. We are going out there on Saturday to see more in person and talk with him. I think it's just that he was in sticker shock over how much everything related to a wedding is. Plus I've been out of work for about 7 months (was finishing up grad school and now can't find a job) and we were really worried he might get laid off. But he didn't! Sorry for rambling on and on. Feeling very chatty tonight. Thank you both for all your input. I'm sure that we will end up going with Mark, it just took some work to prove I'm not just acting like a spoiled brat and spending money just to spend it.

Our pictures are perfect! They shot our wedding at the Port Jeff CC in September. Of all the $$ we spent for our wedding it by far was the best investment. I cannot explain how incredible our proofs are. If you have any questions just let me know. Good luck!! Michele

Shelby9201, Can you tell me how many pics Lynn & Tony took at your wedding? I didn't want 1000 which is normally what they take. Also, how much did it cost? I am thinking about hiring them, but I'm not sure if they are out of my price range. How much did your album cost too? I know that on the price sheet I have, they don't mention album prices.
