Thanks! I designed the front of the card on my pc, saved it as a high resolution .jpg and uploaded it to www.cardstore.com They will print them out, put a custom message on the back and mail them for you for about $1 each (including postage). Just sent them out a few days ago...

I recommend sending one to yourself before doing the whole lot, just to make sure you are 100% happy with it. I think you even get a free one when you sign up, so it won't cost anything. Even though I did all that, pressing the 'send' button was still pretty nerve wracking. What if I made a mistake? eeek!! Isn't time just flying? I can't believe we have just over 6 months to go. What left is there to do for you?

so much left to do

I still have so much left to do! My main focus right now is booking a photographer, videographer and picking my BM dresses. I don't know why but I'm just stuck on these things. It is so hard to pick a photographer long distance without seeing more of their work. And I have two BM dresses that I just can't decide between. AHHH! How are comming along?

Did you meet with Rick and Co.?

The thing that I like about them is that they can post your proofs online and they are reasonably priced. My FH and I both live in Ft. Lauderdale, my parents are down here as well, and his are up in Nantucket. So I thought this would be a nice way for us all to be able to see the proofs. Did you meet with them at all? If so what did you think of them? (honestly) I wish I could help you with your invitations but we got ours from a lady down her in Florida. We just got them in last week (I love the way they came out).

Mind if I jump in??

I actually booked Rick & Co. I am also planning long distance, so I didn't meet with too many photographers, but when we met with Rick, he was extremely nice. He is a pretty laid back person, he said he would shoot specific things if we requested them. I thought his work was well done and reasonably priced also. He was flexible with our package too- we subbed a few things. The thing I liked was if you book him, he will be your photographer. The only thing to consider is, you only get one photographer (and an assistant). I know some brides want 2. Other than that, I think he is worth talking to.

Did you meet with Rick and Co.?

No, Ive never heard of him. But my honest opinion is that you should book based on your impression of their style, not the ability to post proofs online. I agree that its a great feature since you have family all over - but make sure you love their style and the photographers first! I hope that doesn't sound preachy...I just don't want you to regret making a decision. Photographers we did consider: Sherwood Triart, Patken, Wedding Group One, Imagine Studios, Marco, Mark Kauffman (whom we booked) and few others that escape me right now. What sort of inivitations did you get?

I heard about them from a post on this board and I like what they have on there web site. We looked into Mark Kauffman as well but it was a bit to much for our budget. Our invitations are ivory and they fit into the square envelops...they have a tri fold so when they open you pull the bottom part down (very hard to explain). They have a glossy shell on the front (to go with our sea kind of theme) and on the bottom part it has our names with a B (for Beamish...my soon to be new last name) in between, written in script. When you open the card you can still see the shell and our names with the wording in the middle which is in a dark blue. The inserts all have a small shell on them to match the one on the front of the invitation. Does this make any sence? What kind of invitations are you looking for?

I agree. The style of photography is what you should look at, not the ability to post proofs. Almost everyone photographer we went to see would post some of the photos on their website for us free of charge. We also looked at Marco, Rick & Co., Park Avenue, Mark Kaufmann, Daniel Krieger (who we booked), and a few others. Daniel is going to post some of our wedding proofs on his weebsite the next day. We liked his style because it was a combination of traditional, casual, and photojournalism. We felt we were getting the most for the price. Good luck.

What is your photograhy budget? Im sure if you post your budget along with your desire to post proofs on the web, the girls here will have lots of suggestions for you. You invites sound great. Im looking for something with a folder built in to hold the enclosures. I haven't found a thing that I like - mostly b/c I just hate the traditional stuff and I want a very heavy cardstock. Oh well, I still have time.

I really do like the style that Rick and Co. seem to have. Was there something about them that turned you off or did you just like the other photographers style better? Please be honest, because I will not have a chance to meet with them.

I've posted once before to get feed back on photographers. (that's when I got the info on Rick and Co.). I think we are trying to stay under 2K. I looked at the web sites for the others that were suggested to me then but I think I like their style the best. I guess I should just go with my gut and book them. I'll try to look around for the invitations that your thinking of. I'll let you know if I find anything worth looking at. Thanks for all of your help. Applesfla...

My photographer suggestions aren't going to be much help since I had more room in my budget. If other Liwedding girls recommended Rick and you like his samples (in person) and he is available then great. Ive gotten so many great recommendations from the girls on this board. Where is your wedding? Do you have your other big stuff done? What does your dress look like?

Sonicstef...

I have most of the big stuff done. Our reception is being held at Danfords on the Sound and the church is just up the street (Infant Jesus). We also booked our DJ (Spin Around Sound), florist (James Cress), invitations are done (Celebrations), and we go to Pre Cana on Saturday. You can see pics of my dress along with the BM dresses that I was thinking of if you go to www.liweddings.com/mywedding/applesfla I have them posted in my photo album under the wedding ceremony section. The pics of my dress aren't the best (you can't really see the detail of the lace) but my BM and I had to be sneeky about taking them. I am starting to lean more towards the bottom BM dress in the victorian lilac, but that's still up in the air. I went to your web site yesterday. I am quite impressed, it's amazing!!! It looks like you have most of you stuff done. Have you picked out a dress yet??

Apple...

You look great in your gown. I wish I had some photos of me in mine but I hope to have some soon (dress is due in April). Here is it on the model (although the bodice looks like flocked wallpaper in the photo). I think the detail photos gives a better idea... http://www.annebarge.com/gowns1.html Thanks for visiting my site. Can you tell Ive spent WAY TOO MUCH time (and money and energy and aggravation and....) on this wedding thing?

Sonicstef...

What a pretty dress! I like that you can zoom into the detail of it. And I'm sure the pictures don't do it justice. I tried to find my dress online but they don't have it on the designers web site (St. Patric). That's why we had to go and sneek some pics at the bridal shop. My friend took the pics while she was out getting my vail (hehe). I'm sure all our planning (and obsessing) will be worth it on Oct. 5th.
