Does anyone know when the OB will do the 1 st sonogram to check in on the baby? I am hoping to have one tomorrow, but DH thinks it is to early. I am 6 weeks!

Normally, they won't do one until your second trimester, around 20 weeks, unless you have any complications/issues. Considering you had some spotting (which is TOTALLY normal for implantation bleeding) they may accomodate you and give you one tomorrow... I got pregnant right after a miscarriage, so I had two ultrasounds in the first trimester, my first being at 7.5 weeks. Problem is, at 6 weeks, there's not a whole lot to see, so they may wait a couple of weeks until you can at least see the heartbeat.

my first PG I had one at 9 weeks due to spotting, my second I had one right away, a normal one, and I was less then 7 weeks when I went for my first one.
The drs can bill insurance( Iw ork for insurance) for in most insurance companies up to 8 sonos in a 4 month period, so its flexible.
I have NEVER heard of waiting till the 20th week. Usually thats your second, and a 2nd level if there are any concerns.
If you feel nervous for any reason, your dr can order one. Thats my experience.

I had one at 6 weeks to determine if I had a viable pregnancy, and it turned out there are 2 in there! I had a vaginal sonogram, so your Dr. might give you one, I think it depends on the Dr and what his/her practices are.

I had my first sonogram at 6 weeks 3 days. I got to see the baby and hear the heart beat. My next appointment is at 12 weeks because this one was so early.

Even though I was going to an RE, when I had my first OB appointment he did a sonogram. They have to check to see if there is a yolk sac and if everything looks good in there... I never heard of waiting til 20 weeks.

I had one at 8 weeks and then another at 11 weeks because of cramping.

I had one right away (5 weeks). I would ask if you could have one and see what they say. Best of luck and post pics if you get one done.

So my 1st will be next Thursday. I can't wait, I am so excited. My DH will be able to be there with me. He is leaving for Texas that following Monday, so wanted to be here for the 1 st viewing of the baby or babies... (ya never know, there might be more than 1 in there) I will let ya know how it goes.

I've had zero complications and I had my first sono at 6 1/2 weeks to confirm that the baby was indeed there and progressing...one at 12 weeks for my Ultrascreen and one at 20 weeks for my Level II. Ive also never heard of waiting until 20 weeks!! That seems odd to wait until 20 weeks since they want to check on the development...
