SOO upset (NWR)...opinions? (long, sorry, really need thoughts on this)
So after searching and searching when we moved to Queens we found a dog walker. Right price, told us her schedule was wide open. For about 2 months she walked Chewie (who is an older dog with special needs. Then a few days ago she emails telling me she is giving us til tomorrow (which she then changed to today) to find someone new and won't be able to walk Chewie anymore because all her new clients that she has taken on SINCE we hired her don't live in our area- we are in Forest Hills and she says they are in Astoria. She says this despite the fact that SHE lives literally around the corner from us, and she took these clients on and in her own words is 'overbooked' AFTER we started with her. I'm very upset about this. Add to it I find out she has been coming to walk Chewie at noon when we agreed to 1:30. So today was her last day, she dropped our keys under our door and is done. I'm really upset and feel this is not right, so I wrote an email. FH says its not worth it but I feel very strongly about this. Below is the email, thoughts?
Hi (name)
Just a couple things I think need mentioning.
First, I stopped by home really quick today to get something I forgot around 12:30 and Chewie had already been walked. When you started with Chewie we had agreed on a time of around 1-1:30. There was a reason we chose this time, as he gets walked around 9am and then not again until after 6pm. 12pm is simply too early in the day. I just wanted to mention this to you, obviously you are no longer walking him but I do think it is important to let you know that we are disappointed that you were walking him earlier than agreed upon.
Second, we just wanted to let you know that we really feel your decision to stop walking Chewie is unprofessional and quite honestly not right. When we first met with you you clearly told us your schedule was wide open and you only had 1-2 other dogs you worked with every day. We committed to you for 5x per week and were always on time with paying etc. For you to stop working with a client because others, whom you took on later, do not live close and because you have chosen to 'overbook' yourself AFTER we started with you, is unprofessional. It is not ours, nor Chewie's, fault that you chose to take on more clients than you can handle. Chewie is an older dog with special needs who really relies on routine. It was not easy for us to find a dog walker to begin with, and we still are without anyone to continue Chewie's walks. Unfortunately the decision has been made and at this point we would no longer have you work with Chewie regardless, but we did feel this was important to say. We truly are very upset, disappointed and left without the services we, and Chewie really need.
...so, am I wrong to send this? I'm so upset by the whole situation and feel so badly for Chewie who is soo routine oriented
