So sorry this is long but I needed to get this out!!!
So as may of you know FH had surgery on Thursday. I have been by his side since he went in the OR. And does not want anyone near him. His mother has been driving him and me nuts. SHE WONT LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!
He does not want his mother by his side he only wants me near him. (which kind of puts me in a bad spot) He wont let his mother change his dressings it has to be myself or him, who can change it.
Everytime I say something or do something for him she has to do the samething. Its driving the both of us nuts!!!!
Tomorrow he want me to go to the DRs tomorrow with im to get his packing taken out and she is pushing him to let her go! He does not want her there and now she is giving him a MAJOR guilt trip about not going with him.

Sorry to hear that she acts this way. Maybe you have to tell her flat out that she needs to leave the 2 of you alone, that you can take care of him. I dont know but, hopefully you can find away that it'll work out for you. Hope it all works out.

Have FH put it gently to her, that you are THE primary WOMAN in his life now, and he would prefer that you did these things for him. You are his soon to be wife, and that is your role. Not mom. (this reminds me of Bunny (Treys mother) from Sex in the City....)

Why are all guy's moms like this. He's yours now, she can let go. Ha ha, just teasing. I feel your pain, my FH's mom is the same way.

My mom did that to my FH and me with my surgery last year. She even followed us back to the house. Maybe she has guilt for not being there in the past? I had a major operation a few years back, when I was with my ex-husband. My mother was scheduled to be on vacation in Fla and there was no way to change the date of the surgery. She flew back for one day. When she left, my ex promised he would take care of me and he didn't. Another time, after another minor surgical procedure, I could have bleed to death if I didn't go to the ER and get a needle to stop the bleeding and an IV for the blood loss. I drove myself home from the hospital and then needed some pain meds once I got home. My ex left me to go to a Mets game! I don't think FH needs the stress right now and you certainly can't say much to her. Maybe say something like I promise I will be there to help him and you will be the first one I call if there is anything we need. Otherwise, the doctor feels rest is the best thing for him. We appreciate your concerns.

FH just told his mom he wants me to go with him to the drs tomorrow.
I think she feels like she is losing her son and that is why she has been so over bearing.
