Sooo excited! Decided on the PERFECT gift for my parents - and FH is on board!

My mom keeps mentioning how she would like to go to Kennebunkport, Maine with us next year for a long weekend. We never really committed to it yet.

Well, I was watching an episode of Platinum Weddings where a bride said that there is no monetary gift that would make her parents as happy as just being WITH them... and that's MY parents in a nutshell. I almost cried when I heard that bride say that because I realized that's what I would love to give my parents as their gift... to go with them on this trip - and TREAT them the entire time! The rooms at the bed and breakfast, dinners, the trip up, etc.

I was going to get them a trip to go ON, but I really think they would LOVE this surprise. And my fiance agrees it's a nice gift, so now I can start doing some research on b&b's and prepare a gift basket representing our future trip to present to them! . I actually really LOVE the time that my FH and I spend with my parents, so I already can't WAIT!

(plus, we're getting them embroidered handkerchiefs and Precious Moments/Willow Creek figurines... and probably a Gift Certificate for their favorite restaurant, Ruth's Chris).

Now... what to get FH's mom....???

I Love the basket idea! I wish I can do a trip like that for just my parents...but both my dad and my mom together on a trip would be a nightmare lol...its a love to hate relationship!! Your idea is just brilliant...thats exactly the point..they want to spend time with you! They are going to be so happy...prepare for tears of joy!!!
