So.. as i've posted before. I havent eaten any junk food in about 2 months and since the beginning of the year i've been working out. The past 2 months, really kicking it up. I've been waking up at 5:30 in the morning to do the treadmill and pilates. But when i went to the doctor for the flu, I got weighed and haven't lost ANYTHING!! I weighed myself again since the doctor (which was a lil over a week ago) and again NOTHING!!. The doctor had mentioned that he wants me to go to get blood work done because he worries about young women and thyroid problems. Since he mentioned that i researched it and I think i seriously have the symptoms if you call them for an underactive thryoid. I've been eating healthy and exercising, again NOT losing weight, my hair is really thin, and i'm always cold. Soo i am realy thinking of making an appointment with an endrocronologist this week. I have mixed feelings about it all. I mean i dont want to be sick, but I'm kinda hoping thats the case so i know its something thats been out of my control and not that that i've been doing something wrong this whole time.

Re: Sooo Frustrated!!!
I have hashimoto's synthroiditis which is basically a severely UNDERactive thyroid
basically it controls your WHOLE body, i have so many symptoms it is ridiculous!! I take medicine everyday and will for the rest of my life - i also take a pretty high dosage - once the medication is correct, it is pretty under control
def. get the blood work done
ETA - dont freak yourself out though, the symptoms of an underactive thyroid are also the symptoms of MANY other things so dont worry until you get the blood work and even then, it is something that can be fixed with medication

I think you will be better off just going to the Dr. and finding out what they say. It's better to know than to worry about what it could be. At least if it is something, you can try and do something about it before it gets worse!!!

Re: Sooo Frustrated!!!
hey! just read your post - i think you have nothing to worry about !! i have a thyroid problem, and i just take synthroid everyday...it replaces the missing/underactive hormones in your body with synthetic ones. it is SOOO common, you wouldn't even believe it. my mom, dad, myself, and my brother all take synthroid. it's seriously not a big deal as long as you get your levels regulated with that medicine. and there's generic brands, so it's cheap! i had the same symptoms...and granted i don't take my medicine regularly like i should, so i don't see a DRASTIC difference, but im sure it will help for you to look into it!!! dont be nervous!
