Sooo torn as to what time to have my ceremony - HELP!!

Sooo torn as to what time to have my ceremony - HELP!!

A little background .. My church is in Farmingdale, and my RH is in Westbury - CH starting at 7pm

The church, and my family suggets starting the ceremony (Full Mass) at 4pm.My DOC and my gut tells me to start it at 3pm.

I really want to get into my CH, so I feel like if I start it at 4pm then the ceremony is until 5, recieving line, and pics .. I wont get out of there until 5:30-5:45 .. then probably wont get to my RH until about 6:15-6:30 .. leaving 1/2 hr -45 min for pictures. Or I could skip my CH and take more pics which I totally do not want to do.

Is it terrible to have a 3pm ceremony (guests will get out close to 4:30) and not have CH until 7pm on a Friday?

I dont feel like it is too big of a gap but people are giving me such a hard time about it. I hate to think that if I start it at 4pm I will be so stressed and crunched for time, and probably not even get all the pictures that I want.

Helppppp

who cares it's your day and people have to wait in between no matter what so it's not making you a bad host in any way plus you will be upset if you never make it to your CH and don't get all of the pictures you want too.

i vote 3pm!

I would say who cares but I personally wouldn't do that maybe add hospitality hour?

DO it at 3! You'll be so happy you did!

I am another Friday girl with a 3:00 PM ceremony and 7:00 CH...It's not nice, but I am not thinking about my guests here I want plenty of time to take pics, get to my RH, maybe hang in the bridal suite, and be at my CH!!

It's your wedding so you can do whatever you want

Any possibility of taking pics before the ceremony?

Thanks ladies!
I feel like 2.5 hours between end of mass and start of CH isnt that big of a deal, but apparently my family thinks it is.. They keep telling me no one will come to the church .. I didnt realize an hour would make so much of a difference

I think me, my DOC , and you ladies know better than any of them anyway

Maybe I will look into adding some sort of hospitality before my CH at Westbury Manor, or possibly arranging something at the hotel if its really that big of a deal...

No, we are going to be in two totally seperate locations and I prefer to see him for the first time as I walk down the aisle.

I have pretty much the same time line as you.....ceremony at 3pm in Baldwin and cocktail our starts at 6:30 in wood bury at the fox hollow. I would definitely choose 3pm. Fh only request for the entire wedding was not to miss any of the cocktail hour due to formal pictures...which I'm In aggreeance with. I would hate for you to be running late and have to miss out on anything because you had to get pictures done....I think 3pm is perfect for your timeline

My ceremony is at 1:30 and CH is at 6:30. This was our only option and people are just going to have to deal with it. I'm OK with some people not coming to the church. You have to do what you have to do. While you don't want to be disrespectful, it IS your day and thats the bottom line.

Rule #1 in wedding planning: you can't please everyone.

I would do it at 3. My ceremony and reception are closer together and I'm regretting it becaue I'm afraid I won't have time to get the pcitures I want since we're going off site in between church and ceremony. So I would do it earlier. People will deal with the gap, it's not an uncommon thing.

I feel a lot better about doing it at 3pm now ... I didnt think that it was a crazy big gap, but my family was making it out to be this horrible thing.

After all the money that we are spending on the wedding I want to at least be able to enjoy it and get all the pictures that I want!
