soooo

my mom just called me crying to say that my dad who is in ny after years of living in Puerto Rico...will not be coming to my house for christmas because he is going to his half sisters house.

It's really amazing because I was really looking forward to spending christmas with my dad bc I can't remember ever spending christmas with him. Even FH was excited because FH thinks my dad is so cool. not only is he not coming to spend christmas with his daughters and has not visited either one of us in the month he's been here...but he's going to be Santa at my little cousins school.

last yr he forgot my birthday. The sad part is...I feel more angry than sad. I'm just kinda like '**** it...thats why I'll be spending christmas day with my in laws...my NEW family' my mom was hysterical crying because this will be her second christmas away from us since she moved and she can't stand being away from us and here my dad has an opportunity to spend christmas with us after not being around for like 10 yrs...and he doesn't seem to mind not seeing us.

it really does. That plus all the other ******** I've been dealing with is making me wish I could just skip christmas altogether. I should just spend it in a soup kitchen or shelter where people actually appreciate what they have.

you just did help by letting me vent and being kind. ur such a sweetheart. ur good peoplez.

im really sorry about not seeing your dad at the holidays. that really stinks and thats sooo stupid of him.

My dad doesnt even know when my birthday is, to the point that he signed divorce papers on my 21st bday n didnt even know it. It hurts a lot and i know its a bit more extreme then ur situation, but i try to look at it that hes the one missing out on me growing up and starting a family. Im sure your an amazing person and if he chooses to spend the holidays with other ppl, thats his loss. IMO I hope that helps a bit, it still stinks but hopefully you will have a ton of fun with your FIL's and start making some holiday traditions with YOUR family :)
