So im making all my own centerpieces,wish bowl, guest book, some table cloths, candels for the tables and CH tables, decorating the lobby with family photos ect. but you can only start setting up 1 1/2 hours before the wedding.. but i will be in the CHURCH and so will all of my family. Im also very anal when it comes to things being exactly the way i want. So i was really thinking about a DOC. but the quotes i have been getting are just way outta the budget. anywhere from 450-900... and i dont want any of my family to miss the church so they can go and set up for me. and when we get to the RH to take pics. i dont my mom or FMIL to have to run around and set up... nor do i want to be doing that. So i was talking to my FH and mom about this DOC and maybe we could find some extra money to get this person and my mom siad thts alot of money and you dont want any of their other servies besides setting up and making sure everything is perfect. sooooo... we came to the conclusion to ask 2 of her coworkers who ive known for a long time and i trust to set things up for me. They are on the outside just enough where they dont need to be at the church. So i had my mom bring it up to them with the deal of id pay them 125-150 each and they could stay and party!!! (mind you im paying 92.50 pp thats why im not paying them more) and they said they would do it. im sooo happy that they agreed to do it!! now i know things will be set up correctly! just thought id share!

That's so great! And I am really impressed that you are doing all these things yourself. I want to do a lot of things myself too, and I am glad to see that it's possible!

thanks.. and anythings possible.. alot of us 08'ers are doing things ourself.. it just saves so much money and puts so much more feelings behind everything! gives everything a meaning!

mine will not set up centerpieces or favors or anything but place cards...so it make it hard.

but im also making my own place cards as well as meus.. so i made sure i asked to see what they will and will not do.. apparently its common for them not to set things up for u so if anyone else is doing alot of DIY stuff.. ask your RH what they will do and what they wont do!
