Leaving for your sisters birth isn't covered by FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act)?

I would talk to your boss again, if you have the sick time/personal leave... you should be able to use it no questions asked.

Do some research online and find out your rights...read your employee handbook front to back...you might be able to leave early if you find something that allows you to.

honestly its a very small company.. not really a big business so those rules dont really apply unfortunately.. but if you were me would u leave? or just stay at work and go after?

Ask to use some time that day - its kind of hard cause u don't know for sure what day/time you will need but talk to your boss about it. If you have use an hour or 2 of sick time...

I would stay at work and go after if its going to cause problems for u with the management...
