Sorry? Change of plans

Original post by JENI'BRIDE

I need some advice!! This is so awkward. I need to ask a friend not to be a bridesmaid.

I feel terrible...I dont think there is any nice way to handle this.
I should have thought more before I asked her...we have known each other a long time but we are not really close anymore. The rest of my bridal party I pretty much consider family..They will always be in my life.
One of the grooms is not going to be in the wedding and the number is odd.

Am I evil?
Any suggestions?

I had 5 and 4 so its uneven, and there must have been a reason you asked her to be in it in the first place, you didnt say she did anything wrong. I know that the girls in my BP are close friends but sometimes we go AGES without talking, I still love them. I think you would hurt her a lot at this point in the game? Arent the dresses ordered already? In the end even if she is out of your life, she will be there for you for that day and will be in a few pictures but it's not like the memory of the day will be reduced if she was there. Its your decision, but I could never get up the courage to do that to someone, unless we got into a huge fight...

my bridal pty is uneven... 9 guys...7 girls...

do what you feel is right...
If you truely dont want her part of the bridal party then you have to ask her to get out...

i think you made a good choice, maybe this will give you a chance to reconnect and become closer friends. my bridal party actually all became close during the year we were engaged and now we all go and celebrate each others b days etc... so maybe you will grow closer as well. good luck

I don't that you should eliminate her because the #'s will be uneven. My bridal party is uneven and I don't think its a big deal. If she had done something terrible, now that would be another story. I think to uninvite her to be party of the bridal party for that reason is extremely tacky.
