Re: i need advice, im gonna delete it shortly though, so please dont quote
I would just politely say that she should really wait until closer to her wedding to buy her dress, b/c SO MANY new dresses will be coming out this year and next! Ugh What a biter!!!
I would be a little peeved, but her wedding is like a year (or more) after yours.....you can't really say anything though-just grunt through it and keep insisting she continues to look around.
Trust me, I'm sure if I went back to wedding salon tomorrow I'd fall in love all over again.
And if she gets YOUR dress (which is really stupid) everyone will know she's a biter (AND her FH will have seen it already).
Hang in there

JMHO I would be flattered actually and her wedding is 2 yrs away so I really dont think it would be a problem...But if it bothers you then I say tell her and explain why you feel that way.
The only problem I have now that I am thinking about it is when I saw my dress which I fell in love with and knew it was the one( just like you did I'm sure) and then someone told me well I would be upset if you wore it I think I would be upset because when u find the one nothing will ever compare to it.... just something to think about JMO

I think if I was in your situation, I would tell her the same thing. I would be so furious if a friend of mine have the same wedding dress as I do.
I feel like smoke will be coming out of my ears. LOL

its not crazy at all..there are thousands of dresses out on the market, she didn't have to go picking the one you have. If she does choose it..she should feel silly being that you had it first. Everyone who's at both of your weddings will know it (at least the people who pay attention to these things) Consider yourself a trend setter. Also, why is she looking for a dress so early? Why don't you tell her how you feel and suggest to her to look for a dress closer to her wedding because new styles come out all the time. She should want to be her own special bride.

Exactly!!!!!!!! She might change her mind after she starts looking and she has plenty of time to look!
I would take it as a compliment and if she looked around and REALLy still wants to wear the same dress I would tell her its OK. Her wedding will be longgggggg after yours and she will just look silly to people who remember you wearing the dress a year or two earlier.
I would tell her I couldnt give her an answer until she looked around at dresses.

hmmm tough situation.
I would have to say there are millions of dresses and like another poster mentioned she isn't getting married for 2 more years and will probably see something else she wants.....nothing against them but a lot of the dresses today were not the style of the 07ners and vice versa a lot of the styles in 07 are not what us 09ners are wearing.
Sidenote: As the girl I would not want a dress I knew someone else that I knew was wearing but thats just me, I like to be original.
Good luck with this.

Try not to let it bother you too much. 2011 is a long way off - she will probably see other dresses she likes along the way...
It would bother me too but since it is so far away, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

That's just crazy!!! I hope someone talks her out of ordering her wedding gown 2 years in advance! So many things can change between now and then.
But, if she's annoyed because you're annoyed, let her be. Think of it this way, if she really thought it was no big deal, she NEVER would have mentioned it to you.
I think you did the right thing telling her you were bothered by it.
