We talked about when I was going to go off birth control and originally I had chosen right before the wedding because that's when my prescription ran out.
Then I was like 'well... maybe I'll stop in July just to give it more time to get out of my system' (I wanted as much time as possible for it to be out of my body before we start trying for )
But then I changed my mind and decided going off in October would be more than fine.
Well I just went to pick up my prescription and my coverage (which is a whole longer story as to what that all is) is done and now I'd have to pay $80 a month for it.
FH called home from work.
Anyways the exerpt is:
'Sorry I'm not paying $80 a month for this. If you don't want babies you better wrap it up, babe.'
I'm sort of scared.
It's been a long, long time since I've not been on BC.
I want babies... but not til after the wedding LOL.

you'll be ok - condoms are just as effective as BP so you're still just as safe (plus, no std's )

i have the same issue, my boss, as usual, every year changes the insurance on us because 'it goes up'. duh?
so I stopped taking BC 2 months ago because it's now $75 a month for mine. the thing is, FH is paranoid, and even on BC he still wrapped it up. So what was the point anyway?
If he wants to try right away, I told him there's no point anymore in taking the pill.
I definitely pray I don't have an accident before the wedding. Not that we aren't prepared, it's a fitting in the dress issue. LOL.
plus, i kinda wanna drink at my own wedding, and take advantage of my included sushi bar. preggo ladies cannot have that! LMAO!

I haven't been taking mine lately (I use Nuvaring) mostly because I get fat when I'm on it and I'm trying to lose weight. But we are SUPER RIDICULOUSLY careful. I told him I don't care if I get pregnant a month before the wedding but right now NO FRIGGIN WAY. The only problem is when I don't take BC I get killer cramps and aunt flo is SO BAD that I can't leave the house for the first day which is why I went on it originally. I might put a ring back in the month before just to be sure I don't have my period for the wedding but for now I'm not using any just so I'm not a cow for our wedding day.

I'm nervous about going off BC too! Even though I want babies soon, I'm waiting until after the honeymoon to make a change to my body like that. My BC also went up to like $75 a month but I switched prescriptions - went from ortho tri cyclen lo to regular ortho tri cyclen (no diff for me)

I was off the pill for 5 months this year. We just made sure to use a condom every time. I mean, it sucks having to go back that route but it's better than nothing. I think you'll be fine. I personally went back on two months ago because I didn't want to get my period the week of my wedding and honeymoon. If you feel like you want to go back on the pill, either try getting a generic version of what you normally use, change prescription, or go to planned parenthood. I pay $20 a month there without insurance.

For the first 4 years I was on BC, I did not have insurance. Which means I paid for all my GYNO appointment & my BC out of pocket. BC was $98 per month. BC alone came to $4,700.
Now that I have insurance, my co-pay for Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo is $75 a month. Been on that since January, so thats another $530. Just filled another prescription spending $450.
However, I am on migraine medication & it decresses the effectiveness of BC. So last month we just didn't do anything during ovulation days. DH was rather annoyed over that so we are going back to pull & pray. It worked for the first 6 years of our sex life.

I've been off of the pill since october. Not cuz I wanna be prego, but for other reasons I discontinued. We use condoms. And if we have a 'whoops' I immediately go for plan b. Only twice, but still..
Be careful cuz u could be very fertile immediately off of the pill. A lot of pregnancies happen that way cuz some people thing that 'it takes a while'
Also, its a misconception that u need to 'get the pill out of ur system' before concieving. It doesn't matter. What's important is taking folic acid and I cannot stress that enough. Starting a prenatal vit a few mos prior is not a bad idea.
Ok back to being off of the pill.. my periods are normal thank god and not too painful. Yes I liked them much more on the pill. But its not so bad.
