Sorry I have been m*i*a for a while..

This has been a very hard last couple of months. My grandma has been struggling with a rare type of Breast Cancer, Inflammatory or (IBC) for almost 3 years now. In October they gave her 6 weeks, and she outlived that. Then 3 weeks ago they said it would be a few days. The nurses were baffled but she was such a fighter & wouldn't let go. I have been on here and there but haven't felt up to posting much or thinking about wedding things because I know she won't be at mine But after 3 longs months in hospice, she passed away Sunday. I was sick to my stomach and didn't sleep for weeks waiting for the call. She knew she was dying up until the last day, that's what was so hard for me. I look at it as a gift though, because many people are not able to say goodbye to their loved ones as we were able to. It was also killing me that she was suffering so much. This kind of cancer attacks the lymph nodes and surfaces so basically she was in so much pain she felt & looked like a burn victim. I have never seen anything like it in my life. I finally saw Friday, how she could barely talk anymore, but managed to grab my hand and slowly kiss it with a mumbled I love you Gina. That night on and I had been praying for God to just please take her. NO ONE should have to suffer like that. I can finaly say now that she is at peace it is almost a relief. I just pray that there is a cure someday for this horrible disease, and thank the wonderful people at the Hospice House that took care of her all of these months. What a gift they all have. So now I have another angel on my shoulder. May she finally rest in peace, my Grandma Josephine. <3

Oh Gina! I'm so sorry that you had to go through that. I know you find peace and comfort in knowing that your grandma is no longer in pain, and that you have another angel up in heaven. My grandma passed away this Christmas after suffering from a stroke a couple of weeks prior. I also knew she was in a lot of pain, and know that she is in a better place.

So sorry for your loss. My prays to you and your family.

It was horrible when my grandma died too...
& i couldnt even see her one last time since i was here (US) she was in El salvador...

But she is a better place now...

I am so sorry. She will still be there on your wedding day and she won't be in pain. I'm glad that she was able to say goodbye, that must have been a comfort to you and your family.

awwww Gina, the tears were streaming down my face while reading this...I'm sooooo sorry for your loss I lost my grandma 3 years ago and its still hard thinking that she will not be at the wedding. It does get a little easier as time goes by she's in a better place now and thank God she's no longer suffering. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family
