So i went to Bridal Reflections last night (Massapequa) and I had a wonderful experience! My sales woman was Darnell and she was exactly the type of sales person I wanted! She was attentive, knowledgeable and nice without being over the top.
So I THINK I may have narrowed down my dress choices finally, but I'm going to their James Clifford trunk show in 2 weeks to check out those styles and reevaluate my 2 choices (below).
The first one is Phillipa and I love it. This might be my choice. My mom, sister and friend like it too, but they all love the second dress, Victoriana. My friend is GAGA about it actually. My sister and mom understand my standpoint: I wanted a non-traditional dress, something that people probably haven't seen before. I've been to a few weddings in the past few years and while the brides' dresses are beautiful, I feel like they're all very similar.
While I do not have pictures, both dresses were very flattering on me. Phillipa gave me a great hourglass figure and Victoriana ****** me in and made me look so freakin' thin!
When I got back to my apartment last night, I showed my roommate (BM) Phillipa and she liked it a lot, but then she jaw dropped when she saw Victoriana. I guess I'm still not sure and I'm definitely leaning towards Phillipa anyway.
***I've been showing FH pics of dresses SIMILAR to the mermaid/trumpet style I like (Phillipa) and he likes them a lot. I value his opinion so does anyone have a pic SIMILAR to Victoriana that I can ask his opinion on?***
and definitely go with your gut, if you love the first one, then get that one, afterall you will be wearing it all day long!

I love #1!!! but i also voted for it bc u should def go with what you like and not just what everyone else loves.

i'm in LOVE with Victoriana!!! it is an option for me as well.. its GORGEOUS!!
however, it is up to you on how you want to look on your big day.. if you think Phillipa gives you better shape go for it!!

i am partial to the victoriana because thats my dress. however, you need to go with what feels best to you. in total i tried on 15 dresses, 10 prior to finding victoriana & 4 after finding it. i loved many of the ones i tried but i didn't want to take the victoriana off.
if you want a traditional dress you should go with the victoriana, if you don't want a traditional dress then you should go with the first one.

I think the first one is GORGEOUS!!!
I also think that if that is the one you love then that is the one you should go for...you have to wear it that day, not them!

Also, go with what YOU love!! It's your wedding and your dress! Don't listen to what other people love, they can wear it on their day.

I feel sexy in it! I was telling my little group yesterday that I always feel very boxy because I'm short and stalky (JMO) and Phillipa gave me some crazy curves and hugged my body so nicely! The Sales woman also pinned the bust to make it a sweetheart neckline and it was even better!

i like both, #2 is more my style, but #1 is still gorgeous and since youre leabing towards that style i would go with that, dont choose what everyone else prefers

i know exactly how you feel!! im short thick too.lol i tried on so many differnt style dresses and that style also made me feel sexy and tall!!! once you try it on again you will know thats the one!! most important thing is to make 'YOU' happy!! oh and fh.lol

I the Phillipa. Is beautiful, I love the details. Go for the one you really LOVE. I don't really like the 2nd one.

I completely agree. I love #1, but it is such a personal decision...you cant go wrong with either one.

i love style of #2. mermaid dresses dont look good on me thats why. but thats me lol

ummmmm.....I prefer ball gown style over any but do think that #1 is beautiful!!!! I would show FH pictures similar to ball gown style & see how he reacts but in the end, I would chose whatever dress makes you feel like you NEVER want to take it off!!!!!
