i am so depressed. i feel like i'm stuck in a wedding night mare. we booked our hall a year and a half ago, i thought it was set. and now 3 months before my wedding i have no hall.
i didn't cry tonight when we met with the manager of BCE, i didn't cry on the way home, i was just in shock. i didn't cry till RIGHT NOW. and now i'm sitting here with tears down my face and i just feel so hopeless.
i'm sorry, i already wrote a post about it but i guess i just needed to get this out.
i wouldn't mind having it at windows on the lake and i appreciate that they offered that to us, but i really don't wanna change my date. but the night before memorial day is such a popular date, how am i going to find a hall that is available?!?!
again i'm sorry, but FH is asleep and i feel like it all just hit me and i have nobody to talk to about it.

Something like this happened to 2 of the 07ers. If I'm not mistaken it happened to BunnyBride and BillAndMe.
BunnyBride's wedding was in NYC and BillAndMe was out of state .... but you might FM them for advice on handling negotiations with your old hall .... I think they owe you some for the inconvenience and the stress of dealing with the situation at this late date.

You can do this!!!! Call the halls you like and see if they have the date available. I know it ***** and I would be devastated if something happened to the Crescent Beach Club but there is nothing you can do about it. You will find a place you love and probably get a great price!!!!! Good luck

So sorry to hear this It happened to me as well.
I was just curious as to if they offered you a full refund and if they just told you now? They called us in at about 5 months prior and told us 'they wanted to let us know in advance' I was like 'in advance?! 5 months is advance?' We were never told about renovations when we booked--of course we wouldn't have booked then. They offered to move it to Windows and said they held the date--they never brought up refund though so I was just in shock and so we took Windows on the Lake and had them pay for invitation reprints. So frustrating to hear that they have been handling this so unprofessionally to so many brides now.

I am so sorry that this happened to you- i am happy to call around for you too- and I will check craigs list- sometimes people post open dates there. it will all work out and you will have a beautiful wedding, just hang in there for now

I dont know the whole story of what happend or how it happened, but from reading your post I can get the gist of it... and I'm so sorry you're going through this. As if regular planning wasn't stressful enough, now you have this to worry about.
This might be a long shot but if you found a different type of venue that allows for receptions, would your ex-RH be willing to still do the catering? Or give you back your refund to find someone who can cater? Like a museum, a nice building, a hotel, a fancy something something?... I know... i'm grasping at straws but I really do something works out for you!

aww I feel so bad. If there's anything I can do to help, please feel free to FM me. I know there's a book at Fortunoff ((it's complimentary)) which is strictly WEDDING HALLS. Is that anywhere near you that you could stop by and grab it? I think it's called NY Weddings.
