but--how long do you think i need to tour a good percentage of the museum of natural history?4-5 hours??? thanks again--trying to plan the best 2 days possible!!!

Hi , 4-5 hours is definitely enough. you should go on line and buy tickerts ahead of time to exhibits you want to see that have an extra charge. They will also list the times that those exhibits will be. Enjoy

Yes 4~5 hours is a decent amount of time to see the Museum of Natural History. Try to plan out your trip to the museum though and pinpoint what exhibits you definitely want to see to save some time and if you are going to see special exhibits that cost extra, try to get tickets ahead of time to save yourself some time on line.
The museum is always fun!

4-5 hours is good to take a small tour of the museum, but your guests won't be able to see everything. They should go see the dinosaurs and butterflies...

I work for the Museum of Natural History and I always recommend going online to decide what you want to do before coming here. This place is enormous and you can easily spend an entire day here. Someone mentioned seeing the dinosaurs and the butterflies. This is great advice! These are probably our 2 most popular exhibitions. Also, the Hall of Evolution just re-opened last week so I would also check that out.
I'm not sure when you're planning to visit, but if you're planning to come next week, make sure you try and get your tickets ahead of time. President's Week is one of our busiest weeks of the entire year.

just a tip if your not planning on seeing the special exhibits you can save yourself allot of money by waiting online to get in the admission is a suggested donation and you dont have to give anything i you dont want to but just remember that those fees keep the museum going
