I went for my first fitting Saturday. I got there, put on the slip, the 4 inch thick bra they sold me, and my dress. As we were zipping it up it was getting harder and harder to zip. Now since I bought the dress I've lost 7 lbs and 5 and 1/2 inches. So I am standing there as the lady is zipping me up and she says. 'Looks like you've gained weight'. I said 'No...actually I've lost, so I have no idea what is going on'. She says 'Well, the dress wouldn't lie...so you better start watching what you put in your mouth.' 'No beef, no chesse...' and the tirade began. Well needless to say I felt like ****! Then she has the gaul to say 'You look stressed out...I haven't seen you smile yet'. I'm sitting there thinking well you just told me I was fat! Why should I smile at you? Then she continued to talk to the other seamstress in Spanish, and I swear they were talking about me. I heard BOCA more than once. I wanted to cry. Afterwards, my MOH, my sister and my FMIL came to realize the problem was not in any weight gain but the EXTREMELY padded bra that they sold me. When I tried everything on the first time it was a sample dress that everyone and their mother had tried on 1000 times, so of course it fit. Then I tried it on about a month ago, but without that padded bra, just my own strapless and it fit perfect. I'm sorry I've rambled on so long, it just really bothers me, and I guess I am really sensitive about my weight. FH wants them to give me a formal apology. He keeps telling me he's going to go there. I tell him not to, because they have my dress and I don't want anything to happen to it. Am I over-reacting? If you read this far...BLESS YOU! I'm sorry. I just had to get it out....

That is really obnoxious. I would probably complain about the woman and take the dress somewhere else for alterations. Dont take stuff like that personally, that woman should be embarrassed of herself.
They have my dress though, and we already paid $140 for the alterations. I don't think I can at this point....

wow, well hearing that about davids doesnt surprise me at all. i wouldnt say anything about it right now because just in case they are spiteful, u dont want them 2 do anything to your dress, but if she makes those type of comments again, you have to say something to her then and there & put her in her place.
about the bra, my dress fit well w/o the bra, but once i put it on, it was harder to zip, & uncomfortable. luckily i bought it @ macys & can return it though...do u really need 2 wear the bra?
I think I could get away with another bra, I just feel guilty becase FMIL bought everything, and I feel bad not being able to get her $$$ back....
dont feel guilty, its really not your fault. did u buy the bra from davids? if so speak with a manager & let them know u were sold that bra & it doesnt work at all with your dress, maybe they will give u a refund.

you are NOT over-reacting!!!!!!! and your FH is right they should apologize! I would recommend going to georgettes and getting the RIGHT bra for you and then going to try your dress again see if that makes a difference(im sure it will!) and CONGRATS on losing weight and inches thats such an accomplishment!

I guess it's worth a shot, but they made sure to let me know that there are no refunds....

You were not over reacting. Can you exchange the bra for something different. I think that your future husband is right. First of all they should never make you feel that way and second, speaking another language in front of you is rude and wrong. I am so sorry that you were put in that position. You'll figure it out and you will look amazing.

No, you are NOT overreacting, that is horrible! I'm sorry that happened to you, that is definitely infuriating I agree with you, maybe you shouldn't act on that right now, wait until after you get your dress..

That is so F-ed up! I am sorry they made you feel that way- as if us brides aren't sensitive enough about our weight and how we look in our dresses. I would wait until you have your dress in hand and then give them a piece of your mind and let them know you will not be referring any future brides to their facility.

I would buy a new bra - somewhere else! Like at a place that specializes in them (Blum's in Suffolk and Georgettes (I think!) in Nassau). Bring your current undergarment and explain to them what happened - the'll set you right!
Then when you go back for your next fitting, wear the new bra and when the bltch says something (or you could bring it up) you can say 'it's funny - you had me so worried but in the end it turned out to be YOUR shiltty bra that you sold me!'
Don't give them the satisfaction of getting upset - they're not worth it and they don't deserve it!

Totally NOT over-reacting! I dislike people who don't think before they speak. You're beautiful and will be a beautiful bride!

That was very rude. I also hate when they talk in your presence in another language, I find that rude also. I went for my fitting Sat., so I know the bra you are talking about.

I do not think you're overreacting. Regardless of whether or not you gained weight, I think it is unacceptable behavior how you were treated. You are a paying customer and should be treated with more respect...more common courtesy.
I would wait until after the wedding and write a letter to the corporate office. Unfortunately, I'm sorry to say, but based on what I saw for myself when I was a BM and from soo many stories I've heard on here, it doesn't seem like they really care about how their customers are treated. Needless to say, I do think you should let someone know how she treated you, even for your own satisfaction. I wouldn't even bother complaining to them in the store because it sounds like they all have the same sh*tty attitude. Your fitting should have been a happy experience...I'm sorry it wasn't.
ETA: I agree...I would go to Georgette's or Blum's and get a different bra.

First ... Do not let them get you down. The seamstress was wrong to have said those things to you. Have someone call and stop the work - reschedule and go back w/ your bra. I am sure you look absolutely beautiful !!!!!
