Sort of a spinoff on the tipping topic-Who gets fed??
So I was reading the topic about tipping and have to say I agree when some girls are saying that the amount of money is getting crazy. I also realized that I need to contact my hall and ask whether the 18% I'm paying is considered a gratuity, hmmm
Anyway that being said who are you feeding at your reception. My and FI were fighting about it the other day cause if it were up to him no one would eat (as far as vendors). I said we had to feed the photographer cause he's gonna be with me from early in the day. But the dj will only be there for 4 hours, we did not book him for cocktail hour, so do we have to feed him and the mc? Please help I am very confused and going slightly kookoo!
ETA: I just called the Meadow Club and they told me that if you use their house vendors then the price for them to eat is 1/2 price. If you use another vendor they take 1/3 of the price. Figures that I didn't use any house vendors!!

im pretty sure you feed the photographers, the videographer, the dj & mc ( or band)
* most halls ( once you meet the minimum) only charge half price for vendor meals.

Yup, you feed the phot/vidoe guys and the dj's, but if you meet your min, then their meals are 1/2 price in most halls.
Some halls if you use their recommended people, will give the meals for free, but when I was looking for halls, didn't find one that said this..lol

You fed photo/video people and band! We have 15 vendors to feed!!!!

You feed photographer, assistant (if they have one), videographer, assistant (if they have one), DJ and MC (or every member of the band).

If we meet our min. we may opt for the 'vendor meals' where they can eat at the cocktail hour & instead of the full sit down meal, they are served a sandwhich platter. One of our vendors even requested that as opposed to a full meal. He told us in advance not to pay for a full meal for himself or the two others coming. The full meal is to much time away from work & too much food. It sits so heavy he said they get tired. So if we don't meet the min - they'll have the option.

We're feeding the photographer, videographer, DJ, MC and the band (5 people). So in total, 9 vendors
ETA: Because we met the min, we only pay 1/2 price for their meals.

My personal feeling was that if I were going to feed any of the vendors, then I must feed all of the vendors who will be 'working' during the reception. So, for me, it's the 2 photographers, 2 videographers, and 7 band members.
But, now I am getting pissed at the band, so I just might decide to feed them pizza instead of the wedding meal.
