Sort of NWR about weddings, men, and babies.

Sort of NWR about weddings, men, and babies.

Has anyone else found that the closer your wedding gets (or got), your FH has been thinking and talking more about having a baby? In the last few months, even before we moved the wedding up, FH has been talking more about having kids. We plan on buying a house before we have kids and would like to buy within a year or two max, and I wanted my first child by 30, which is 3 years away, but he seems to be talking about our kids as if they'll be here next week. We were talking yesterday and I kiddingly asked him if he wanted to make a baby on our honeymoon, and he said, 'not the honeymoon in July, but the one in October.'

After I picked myself up off the floor, I asked if he was serious and he said that he could be persuaded to have a baby. I told him I didn't want to persuade him and that we both have to want it, and we really can't afford to have a baby until he gets healthy and can work again, but I was just so shocked by his comments.

I wonder if, as the wedding gets closer and I am feeling like I'm entering a nesting phase in my life, if he's feeling it, too. Has anyone else's FH done a complete 180 on the baby issue the closer the wedding gets?

My DH wants a baby very badly....he started with this before we got married. I agreed to go off of BC after the wedding and we will see what happens.

I am actually the one who is having 'baby fever' lately. I am so envious of every pregnant woman and I want to hold every baby!! Its weird...I can't wait!! I mean I will, of course...we want to be married for about 2 yrs b4 we even think of having a child but I get excited about the idea!! FH has always wanted a family, and I know he is looking forward to it one day...he isn't as enthusiastic as I am just yet, although we talk about baby names and stuff occasionally. He is also finishing up school this year and wants to work on his career first but I have a feeling when the time come and we are about that age he will start getting as excited as your FH! Good luck!

Tom is very similar.....he mentions here and there taht he'd like to make a baby...but we have to wait at least 2 years until I get tenure at school, otherwise, it's too dangerous to take that kind of time off!
Before we got married, he didn't really mention it, but now that the wedding is over, he mentions it a lot more than i thought he would

It's my dad that's scaring me though...he talks about it CONSTANTLY!!!!!

Please! My father would gladly trade me in for a baby - in or out of wedlock! We made a deal that he has to wait until I'm 30...FH was like, 'Um, do I get a say in this?'

The thing is that my father was totally against Tom and I moving in together two weeks before the wedding.....yet, the day I got engaged, he sat down and told me he's available for babysitting whenever we have kids.......um, does he not understand how they come about?

I'm just laughing at the idea that your father doesn't know where babies came from.

My parents don't have sex. My father just has magical jumping sperm.

LOL this is my DH. Before the wedding he was begging me to get rid of them and now that we are buying a house, he wants me to stay on them while I want to go off!
