Soup Bowl or Accent Plate?

I am registered for the Waterford Padova fine china pattern, and I LOVE the look of the place setting with the accent plate. What I like about the accent plates is that they can be used as the salad plate. With the 5 piece setting, you would have to wash the small plate to reuse for dessert, so it would just be easier to have the accent plate. I am also thinking that I would never use those bowls because I would be hosting thanksgivings/christmases, and we never serve soup haha... all of my newly married friends/family registered for the soup bowls though so idk what to do!!

I would just register for both, but I'm afraid I might only get a couple of each and I don't want to be stuck having to spend $1,000 buying the rest of the set.

I registered for both, but I think I'm going to take the bowls off. They're expensive, and honestly, when am I ever going to serve soup at a family dinner?

That was my though exactly. We would use the extra plate a lot more often than we would use the bowls
