South Africa?

Hi Girls!
Anyone ever been to South Africa either on honeymoon or otherwise? Anyone else book a trip there for the first time? Considering going? FH and I are considering going to Cape Town for our honeymoon...

Friends of ours are considering it but the only thing holding them back is ALL the shots you need to get to enter Africa. I would look into that first

My FH has the same issue. I really want to go to Africa...and he refuses to get all those shots!

Me and FH were set on South Africa for our honeymoon. we were going to book a Club ABC tour that went to Cape Town, Kruger for safari and then Victoria Falls- it looked like the most amazing trip. The only thing that stopped us was the time of year. We would've been there in the winter which is good for safari but I didn't want to bring heavier clothes with me for our honeymoon. I'm pretty sure the only shot you need is for malaria. You can check out go2africa.com and club abc for their tours if you want someone else to do all the planning work for you. If you do go take a lot of pictures- I'll be jealous!

I've been to Capetown twice on vacation. NO SHOTS needed! Capetown is amazing, i'd highly recommend it. The only problem is flying time. I flew Atlanta-Capetown the first time, second time Miami-Capetown. Now i understand South African air is not flying direct to Capetown from the states...you have to go to Johannesburg first. what a PITA that must be!!!! it took 14 hours from atlanta!!!

My best friend is from South Africa and I've seen so many pictures, videos etc from there and it's GORGEOUS, exotic and very interesting that I can't wait to go!

We were going to go to South Africa for our honeymoon!! However we spoke to a good friend who is from Capetown and he somehow talked us out of it. He said it would be an AMAZING trip, but not a honeymoon trip. The safari is awesome, but no real tropical beaches etc. which is what we would want at some point. Obviously we weren't 100% into it if just that one comment turned us off. lol...

But if it's what you're looking for I say go for it!! I mean when will you every have that opportunity again??

South Africa is on our bucket list..hehe but im really trying to push to go there in 2010..world cup baby!!!!!!!!!!

I want the tropical beach too but there isn't an SPF strong enough for my very irish FH... I tan easily so we need a happy medium. We do want to go to South Africa but we will see... def one day.. maybe not a HM thing.

South Africa was my second choice for a honeymoon - I am so jealous that you guys are considering going!

I wouldn't worry about shots. Just take an antibotic everyday and you'll be fine!
