south beach or place like it for bachelorette party question

i really dont want to put my girls in the poor house but id really like to go to south beach...does anyone have any recommendations for a cheap hotel on the water? (like under 200 maybe) is it possible to not have to rent a car? are the bars/clubs all near the water and hotels?

if southbeach is too much money id def look into going somewhere else..so if u have recommendations for other places that are on the water and have a great night life..please let me know!

we plan on going away for just 2 or 3 nights in July

You can find some hotels that are pretty reasonable down there. There's a couple decent ones on Collin's Ave its not on the strip but is like a few feet away on the next block runs rt along it. I believe I stayed at the Nash hotel one time and it was really reasonable, clean and everything is right there!

im going to vegas and sometimes you can get great deals...my fh got lucky and got an amazing deal it was a special rate the hotel had for a short period of time and he booked just then...I tried to get the same one today but of course i couldn't, but still found something pretty good in vegas.

Southbeach i would stay away from ocean drive bc it will probably cost more. If you look online find package deals for south beach and you probably can find a good deal...I personally dont think you need to rent a car down there

I agree, you definately do NOT need to rent a car, its more of a hassle w/parking ect. Most everything is in walking distance, and cabs are readily available.

i didnt think u needed a car ive just never been there and didnt know if everything really was right there where u could just walk or cab it...thanks girls! the hotels that are off ocean drive, is the beach still literally right there? or do u have a somewhat of a long walk to get there?

Hey jenise! u def do not need a car in southbeach..i agree with the other girls..stay away from ocean drive..its too much $..collins ave is great bc everything is on that strip..i think there is Holiday Inn there which shouldnt be too expensive and its really nice..its all within walking distance to beach..But there are a million hotels on collins..so if you know any particular clubs u want to go too..see which street they are on and maybe try to get a hotel there bc collins is a huge strip. If not, you can always take a taxi.

I hope you go..its so much fun!

Ditto on not needing a car in South Beach, you'll never find parking!! The hotels on Ocean are definitely pricier, but Collins is just one block up. I'll give you this recommendation when looking for a hotel, the lower the street number the closer it is to everything. Last time we went to South Beach I think we were on Collins and 20th, it was walkable but definitely far, especially in heels at 4 in the morning! 10th Street and around there is a good middle ground

Yeah definately stay on Collins you won't even know the difference walking-wise. Plus sometimes its a good thing the hotels on Ocean are partying to all hours of the night, so they are pretty loud if you want to get some sleep at whatever time. Hotel Nash was on 11th St, so yeah I agree w/the poster above on the street & location.

if you think about it..the hotel is just for sleeping and maybe lounging newar a pool..so as long as there is beds and a pool...i wouldnt spend too much money on a super nice hotel..id save the money to go to the bars and stuff

just be careful..even though its 6 or 7 months away..there has been a few abductions of visitors and tourists the past few weeks...i think 3 giels went missing or something..its everywhere on the news here

if your not going t orent a car..only go in taxi's dont go with anyone..southbeach can be scary sometimes

u definitely dont need a car. parking is $30/day overnight! If ur staying on collins ave, DO NOT book tudor hotel. It says its a 4 star but literally was CRAP -- so disgusting and dirty, i couldnt even stay there for 5 minutes!

i dont have hotel suggestions, but i dont think youll have to rent a car unless you want to drive outside the south beach area to see more of the city, if you plan on staying local, then you wont need to rent one IMO

we stayed at the Fairfax(?) fairfield (?) right on collins ave by the cleavelander.. and it was like $100 a night for two queen size beds.. the rooms were HUGE! - honestly not the ritz thats for sure but when you are drinkin all day and night as long as the shower was clean and there were fresh towels thats all that mattered... we went in Feb. found it on expedia and for 5 night with flight it was $450 per girl... so dont know how long you want to stay but that was 07 price...

If you really have your heart set on a bachelorette vacation, i def reccommend using priceline for the hotel!!!! Fh & I got a resort hotel in PR back in may for 125 a night that was normally priced at close to 300 a night massive savings right there!
