Southerns (as in not from the North - snow areas) Your feelings on snow

I mean was this REALLY all that you thought it'd be.

I used to think it would snow all the time up here.

I heard folks from the north talk about how much snow they got every year and I just assumed it would snow more often.

I got here and maybe I haven’t had a ‘storm’ yet, but this really isn’t all that bad. We had a foot or so in and around our drive. It took us about 2 hours to clean it out to my satisfaction, but it wasn’t like the city closed down or anything.

Snow is snow. It either comes down a lot or it just stays stuck and becomes nasty black. Oddly enough I love the fresh snow when everything is whitewashed. After it gets dirty I remember how nasty we are with our cars and folks tossing trash into the snow (the stuff I found in my snow this weekend!).

Where’s the snowed in and can’t move stuff?
Where’s the big urgent need to stock up for a week’s worth of food?
Where’s the big urgent need to have to get batteries and candles?

Did I miss it?

(Oh and where do shovels go?)

Just thought I'd ask.

Then again, I know a lot of folks really believe it's 100 degress or more all year long in San Antonio *shrug*

I am from TN. and while we do get more snow in NYC then in Greenback (yes, Greenback, TN.) it is much more mellow then I expected.
