Spacing Appointments

Spacing Appointments

First post on here, so it's kinda long to give some background!

OK, so I went to the food tasting at CLM this past week. I love the place, like the food, and wouldn't mind booking, but my FH wants to look at a few more places just to be sure.
The only thing is that we are looking to book for Fall 2009 which doesn't give us all the time in the world to look. We have crazy work schedules at the moment and since we will both be off on Tuesday we plan on looking at 4 more places we would be interested in.
I am just trying to figure out how to space the appointments so that we are not late for any of them....plus the FH has to leave for work at around 5pm.

Here is the game plan.

Land's End @ 9:30am

We would like to stop at Villa Lombardi's, East Wind, and Lombardi's on the Sound.

Does anyone have any advice of what order and how far to space appointments?

Thanks!

I would say atleast 1 1/2 hr inbetween...and don't forget to count travel time.

Re: Spacing Appointments

its hard to say exactly how long you'll be at each place. We were in and out in 30 mins, and then also another place we were there for 2 hours lol. But if you are on a schedule you can just say that you have to leave and not stay that long. The reason I did stay 2 hours at one place is bc the day i went to look at it there was a wedding about to start. He asked if we wanted to taste some of the food and if we'd like to wait a little bit and he'd be able to give us some food.

Give about an hour for each place and yes dont forget travel time.

When you make each appt I would ask them, about how long the process takes on average. I spent over 2 hours at CB when we went originally but only 30 minutes at JT. It varies but they do this alot and can probably help you figure that out. Also, not all places require and appt so this may help you.

If you are at an appt and need to leave just explain that you have to be somewhere at X time. I would also mapquest each location from the prior location to gauge the time slot you will need for travel.

Re: Spacing Appointments

me and my FH saw 5 places in one saturday .. this was our schedule:

9am- East winds
11:00am- lombardies on the sound
1:00pm- watermill
2:30 - Hamlet
4pm- Carlyle on the green

we made it to each appointment on time!

Re: Spacing Appointments

It's really depending out how far apart each hall is from where you will be leaving from.

I have two appts tomorrow. One in Glen Cove and then 2 hours later in Lindenhurst. I really don't spend more than 30 minutes at a hall.

Thanks for all your advice!
I am going to try to just space them out 2 hours apart each.
The first appointment is the one I'm really interested in. SO if that works, maybe I can cancel the rest!

Re: Spacing Appointments

I live west og those places so hit them like this: Villa, Lombardis on the sound, East Wind. Villa and lombardis are 20mins apart and then its like 40 to east wind.

**Both lomabardis have the same menu and food so when you get to the 2nd one tell them you already saw villa etc. and you know the food so they don't waste time going over it twice. We saw both as well.

I would do at least two hours apart. Remember east wind has four different rooms so it took us a long time in there.

and remember that the traffic going down to port jeff can be a real pain in the @@@ depending on what time of day it is!!

Thanks again for the advice!

We actually just ended up going to Land's End and East Wind.

We LOVED Land's End so we put on hold a date for August 2009! I am so excited! We just want to speak to our parents before we put down a deposit and make it official!

Hey, i've been looking at some of the exact same places as you, not till 2010 though. Could you tell me the price range Land's End gave you? It's one of my favorites but i can't find anything about the price online...someone told me it's on the expensive side, so i'm a little hesitant to go check it out.

Re: Spacing Appointments

I am a teacher so I am doing a Thursday during the summer. Otherwise I would not be able to afford them!

But keep in mind, gratuity is included. Most places give you a price of lets say $100 pp with 20% gratuity and 8.6...% sales tax, which would be around $128 a person anyways.

If you are looking for an place on the water place, Chateau La Mer was beautiful! I almost booked there.

Re: Spacing Appointments

Yeah, my cousin got married at Chateau La Mer a few years ago, it was really nice. We're going to check out a bunch of places the weekend after next when we're home (we live in NC), that's actually one of them. Congrats on getting your place booked
