SPANX

Have you ever worn this stuff? How is it?

I hear about SPANX all the time.

Is anyone wearing spanx under their dress?

I hear they are great, I have not tried them but I have seen people wearing them under their clothes and it shapes them nicely.

me too...I keep saying I'm going to try them but I haven't. Everyone does say that they work though.

i wore them once under a pretty body hugging dress-- the salesperson told me that i did not need them but i'm always so paranoid and figured they couldn't hurt-- they were kinda comfy- like pantyhose but they do work great at keeping you nice and smooth- i like the ones with the open feet!

ETA: i'm not wearing them under my gown for the wedding

Is SPANX comfortable?

I heard they are really comfortable. My FMIL wears them (mind you she is a size 4) and she loves them. I think she gets them on QVC.

Mine were really comfy! I wore them for my wedding and they were great...and I got married in June! I did try them on a month later for a party, without my long line bra, and I did have some bunching at the top. So I would suggest wearing a long line bra with them.

So you wear an in line bra on top of the spanx?

I have a pair, but they were the ones that only go down to your thighs. I didn't like them at all. I felt like I had to climb into them. I just wasn't used to the way they felt. People swear by them though. They carry a huge selection of them in Bloomingdale's. They're not too much $$, worth a shot!

The long line bra will help hold your waist in and the spanx will help your tush, tummy and legs. The long line bra will smooth out the waist band line so you won't see it. The spanx are like spandex shorts. If you have a full skirt on your dress I don't think you'll need both, but see what you're comfortable with.

It sounds like we are climbing into armor

Re: SPANX

I JUST FOUND OUT WHAT THESE ARE TODAY!!! I go to FIT and in french class we were talking about corsets and girdles and all the girls were comparing them to spanx. I heard the old fashioned girdles are better but they are hard to find these days. The sell spanx at Bloomie's and can be kinda pricey. They come in all diff types for all parts of the body. And, yes I'll be looking into getting a pair of them for my next evening out and maybe wedding too...haven't looked at dresses yet.
