Speaking of Bachelor Party's, How would you feel?

The possibility has been mentioned that my FH's 2 BM and his friends might be planning his bachelor party in Costa Rica. I am not thrilled with this idea and neither are any of their gf's or wives. How would you ladies feel?

I just dont see any good reason why they should need to leave the country for a bachelor party. It's ridiculous, especially since we are having a destination wedding in Vegas, which is going to be expensive enough.

Just wondering if I am being irrational by asking them to keep it within the US?

honestly, for me, if they can AFFORD it without any difficulty, i don't think i would care. i actually have told my FH that i wished they could all afford to go to Vegas. they originally threw around the idea of going to Brazil for his bach. party, and realized it would be too expensive.

i just want him to have a great time. if you are worried about shady things going on, i really feel like it won't matter if the party animal friends take him down the street or across the globe....it can happen anywhere!

if they can do it, trust him and know that he will do the right thing, no matter where he is.

I think I'd be upset if he was going to Costa Rica and I wasn't going to someplace as exotic (that's just me!) More jealousy than anything. Also the $$$ thing.

I'm ticked already because the FI bought an XBOX 360 and a flat screen tv while I was upstate for the holiday.

I would be ticked off!!!
This is why we are doing a Bach party together! So no matter where we go we are going together. I just want the girls to hang during the day together and the guys with the guys.. then we are all meeting up at night! Probably doing Atlantic City!

I see the points you all have made, I agree with all of you as well. Doing a 'combined' party is completely out of the question for him, His friends would never allow that. They dont bring their wives or GF's out when they go into the city, let alone a bachelor party.

I wish we could do something together, I just know it would never happen so i won't even bring it up. I am totally fine with doing them solo, personally I could really careless about my b-pty. I am already having the wedding of my dreams in Vegas what could top that.

I also know that I will have one regardless but that my friends can't afford to take me to another country and then come back and go to Vegas to my wedding...It's selfish of me to even expect them to. So in my eyes, I think it's fair tha we should both stay within the border of the us.

I would not be happy, but if they are treating then I wouldn't want to insult their feelings and ruin their plans. I just don't see the need for such an extravagant trip for a Bachelor Party. Couldn't they go to Miami or something?

Does he have any hobbies/interests like football, golf, baseball, etc?

For FH's, he went with his friends to Charleston, SC to golf. For our BM's, they went to Notre Dame to watch a college football game. For another GM, they went to San Diego to see the Jets play. Next year, they are going to Tampa for Yankees spring training for someone's bachelor party.

I totally agree. My FH's friends want to go to Vegas. Honestly, I don't see any reason why they can't stay around here and go to AC. I mean sure I'd love to go away, but he's going to Mardis Gras in Feb. Why does he need to go away again. He loves to party, but he always get too drunk too quick and I'm just affraid.

He's thinking maybe Toronto. Gosh I hate this. Why do Bachelor parties have to be so crazy.

For FH's, he went with his friends to Charleston, SC to golf. For our BM's, they went to Notre Dame to watch a college football game. For another GM, they went to San Diego to see the Jets play. Next year, they are going to Tampa for Yankees spring training for someone's bachelor party.

Thats actually a pretty cool idea, unfortunately the only sport FH loves is Hockey and his Fav team in the Rangers...No help there since it's a home team.

Shmar...I am totally in the same boat, his friends are the same way. I'm ok with him going away just not out of the country...being in such a uncivilized place makes me very nervous, he wouldn't even be able to call home at all. No Cool. As I said though, our wedding is in Vegas so that isin't an option either.

UPDATE: We have since discussed it and he said he won't go...I feel much better now, I told him he can go anywhere he wants within the US if he really wants to go away, just please don't go outside of it.

Honestly....my FH wouldnt be going. I'd put my foot down to that. There are plenty of things they can do locally, there is no reason to go out of the country.

Maybe he could go to some other city and see the Rangers play! That's what FH and his friends did with the Jets.
