I recommend seasonal or the new seasonique, they are meant and packaged to be taken for three months straight. however, you can get your period in the middle sometime if you are uncomfortable going without your period for that long, just skip a week.

I was on Demulen till I had to go off the pill. I never had any issues with it.

I really liked the shot! My roommate is on it and likes it too. You get a shot every 3 months. It eventually makes your body not have a period. Only down side is when you get off of it, you might have your period for a week!
I'm on the pill now, i just took whatever my doc gave me. seems to be working well.

Re: Speaking of BC...
I use Loestrin.. it's the same strength everyday. So my hormones aren't as crazy. Plus your period lasts for like 2 days. Half the time I don't even get it, which makes me nervous sometimes.. but I love not getting it.

I'm on Yasmin and it's great. Periods are light and no bloating or nausea or anything. I saw my gyno two weeks ago and she went through the whole 'if you don't want to get your period for your wedding and honeymoon, skip the last week of pills and just start a new pack' talk.

Re: Speaking of BC...
I havent found one I LOVE but I think I might get a copper IUD since it doesnt have hormones.
But i HATED the patch. I would swell and get itchy. And it would peel off towards the end. That only last 3 months.

Re: Speaking of BC...
Just to warn you ladies listen to the warning on the Rx inserts. If you have a family history of strokes or clotting disorders don't take the pill. Hormones are off limits. My mom used to tell me about her friend who died from a stroke at 21 from her bcp and I always said well that was back in the stone ages and the pill is better now. My sister had a clot during her pregnancy and the doctor said all family members must get tested for clotting disorders. I came back + and was pulled off the pill. I was told I was lucky nothing happened and am not allowed to use any bc that involves hormone . Apparently the risk of clots is still there. A friend of my sil went blind for 3 days after starting the patch luckily it was only temporary. And to add insult to injury she got preggo with twins her first cycle on the patch. So be careful ladies the risk of a clot is low unless you have a condition that predisposes you to clots.

Re: Speaking of BC...
I'm horrible with Pills, HATED the patch-- so I just started the NuvaRing...so far its GREAT! I was worried I wouldn't be able to get it in, but it was so easy--kind of like using an OB tampon (I don't use them- but had to in a pinch once). I have't had to take it out yet-- but hopefully that's just as easy.

Re: Speaking of BC...
Right now I'm on Seasonique, at first I didn't like it since my body wasn't use to it. So I will be starting my next 3 month cycle. The best BC I was ever on was the patch...I miss it!! I know BC effects everyone differently but my body can't handle the low dose hormones, my body goes into a 'shock' ( as my Dr. puts it). Right before I would menstruate I would be depressed and have horrible anxiety. I thought I was going crazy!! We'll maybe I was just a little
Just talk to your doctor. It will work out!

Re: Speaking of BC...
This is great. Can Yasmine be purchased at a clinic..or is it only sold through prescriptions by your doctor? I have no insurance thats why I ask.
