Speaking of C-Sections

Speaking of C-Sections

Maybe you girls can ease my mind a bit.
I have placenta previa. Right now I'm 30 weeks. I am also on the high end of normal for having too much fluid. I have to have a sono every 2 weeks. In 6 weeks I have to have an amino Which I am quite nervous about to check the baby's lungs at which point I would be delivered via c-section if all is ok with baby. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has had the same or if you can tell me exactly what happen when you have a c-section & how long they keep you in the hospital.

Re: Speaking of C-Sections

I had a c-section but it was because of the baby being in distress and my having a high temp.

What do you want to know exactly?
Youre pretty much taken into the OR, and it all takes under half hour. Most of the time is the prep time (from what I recall).

You get one extra nite at the hospital.

Lots of luck to you.

Yes, like Amma said. You get an extra day. I went in Tues night (in labor)... had Emma Wed PM (after 22 hours) and left the hospital on Saturday. i could have stayed till Sunday but I wanted to go home.

Read the article that Shamma posted about c-sections. If you have any more questions we are here for you
