speaking of fake eyelashes- question!

speaking of fake eyelashes- question!

I haven't had my MU trial yet, and I love false lashes on me, but everytime I wear them my eyes feel very dry. The last thing I want that day is bloodshot eyes! I wear contacts and I think it irritates them.

Anyone else have this problem? Is it bc I use cheap eyelashes from the drugstore (will the MU artist use better ones?) or would the individual lashes be less irritating?

i got bloodshot eyes ...not sure if it was from the eye lashes, the glue or the make up itself..BUT i will say that when i got my last trial, i had the individual lashes (rather than the whole strip) and my eyes felt SO great, i really forgot I was wearing them. I personally think that my eyes reacted to the glue, because they have to go so close to your eye, it made my eyes tear (even though I didn't get any glue or anything in my eyes)... i hate the strips! maybe it's just me, not sure! HTH!

Could be the glue..you might be alergic to latex kind...
Most MUAs use DUO (had a fishy smell lol)

If you do the individuals, it may make your eye tear...BUT the strips tend to come off at the edge. JMO but also keep in mind I do them myself and am NOT a pro.

I think it's most likely the glue. i wonder if there is hyperallergenic glue out there??

The singles are definatley more comfortable and look more realistic. However... just make sure they are applied properly... I had a bad bad bad experience with them from my MU trial. Ahh.. the thought of it still saddens me!

OK I just googled it for you... they definately have Hypo-Allergenic Eyelash Glue. Just look it up.. You can even purchase your own tube and bring that for them to use. Just make sure you get the glue for the right kind of eyelashes (the singles are different from the strip).

One eye was fine... it was attached to my eyelashes... but the other eye... most of the singles were attached to my eyelid instead of the eyelashes... meaning it was glued to my skin on my eyelid! You could see the dots where they were attached... and natrually it irritated me A LOT! I had to take them off that night. The MU artist (using that term lightly) told me to use cold cream to remove them. Well... that didn't go so well... in the end I lost about 40 eyelashes in each eye! YES, I COUNTED! My eyelids were swollen for like a day and a half... and my eyelashes were pretty bare looking! I was worried they wouldn't grow back.... but they are... I have a bunch of lil short eyelashes right now.

hmm i'll have to try it. I am literally not allergic to ANYTHING (like, even poison ivy!) so I have no known allergies to latex... but my eyes tend to be sensitive with my contacts (I get dry eyes a lot) so this may help anyway. Thanks!

I think it depends on how they put them on ... I had them on for my trial and they looked great.. they also have the pieces one.. you know where you add lashes to peices of your eye instead of the while eye.. those shouldnt bother you

It could be the fumes from the glue too.
I had a friend who was interviewing for MAC... and I was her model.... she used this unmarked bottle to remove the extra make-up under my eyes.... and as she came close to me with the QTip, I felt an immediate burning... and that was before she even touched me! I whispered to her 'Jen, it's burning'... I didn't want to say it out loud bc I didn't want the interviewer to hear me. Well... Jen didn't either and got even closer with it.... THE BURNING was insane.. I couldn't even hold it in... my eyes started tearing and everything.. turns out she was using antibacterial hand gel. OMG! That was soooo bad!

Sometimes when I put the strips on.. I feel a burning sensation until the glue dries then it feels fine. They can also take some time to get used to.
