Speaking of honeymoons

Did all of you put in for your vaction time yet? I haven't, since I have the hope I won't be here by then. Otherwise, I was thinking of giving in my days come around the Holidays.

We don't submit requests for next year until end of December or so. However, my boss is being cool with allowing me to work any holidays up to my HM and banking them as comp days if I need 'em.

I have no intentions of bringing it up until maybe 2 months before hand

If they have a problem with my time, I quit I hate it here anyway LOL

Re: Speaking of honeymoons

Not yet, I'll probably do it around January. FH did though, yesterday actually. He starts a new job on Monday, and told the HR manager yesterday that he will need to take his two weeks in June. Luckily all she said was congrats and everything will be fine

Re: Speaking of honeymoons

not yet....a) we haven't booked yet and b) 2010 requests start in the new year so I don't have to submit until January!

Not yet but they know about it so it'll be fine. I just need to schedule things around it.

Re: Speaking of honeymoons

i did, since im taking such a long period of time. i was scared.

i didnt tell them that i plan on taking a few days before the wedding off....that i will keep till later as a secret....

Re: Speaking of honeymoons

when i started working full time (June) my boss asked when the wedding was & where we are going for our honeymoon. so i told him. however, since i work in the same office as FMIL & since my boss has known FH since he was a baby he said whatever time off i need is fine.

once we book i am going to let everyone know exactly what days i will not be in. the worst part is that no one is going to do my work when i am out so i am going to have a massive amount of work when i get back.

Re: Speaking of honeymoons

i just asked my boss if it would be ok to take the amount of time i wanted. i've been working extra hours to get some more vacation days. so there is no 'official' request yet, i'll probably do that in a few weeks, but he is fully aware of my hm plans.

Nope, I just recently started a new job so no one will know I am engaged until after the new year.

Re: Speaking of honeymoons

I haven't - we don't get to do that until sometime closer to the end of the year. My department is small though, and they all know. It doesn't affect the rest of my firm.

FH had to put in his 2010 vacation requests last month!

Re: Speaking of honeymoons

I did - we have to have vaca more than 2 weeks approved well in advance by one billion different managers, supervisors, etc. I wanted it approved before I bought the airfare.
