i asked my dad if he wanted to, and I think one of my BMs may want to but not sure (so maybe not..)
I wanted to do something for my friends (see below)
If one of the speeches was maybe done while people were eating or mellowing out, would that be ok? I wouldnt want to take away from the dancing and other things...
Let me know...

Re: Speaking of speeches...
I'm going to start off by saying it's your wedding day, do whatever you want. That being said, too many speeches is NG IMO. I was just at two weddings recently and it was like the never-ending barage of speeches. What happens is people get bored, especially if they've been drinking at CH, and then they just start talking right through the person's speech (they usually make it through the first okay). It's rude but it's reality. I would keep speeches to a minimum.

Re: Speaking of speeches...
of course everyone is different and since everyone has their own day-- they can do it however they want.
i have chosen to do just the traditional best man speech and that is it.
i have been to weddings before where i have seen other ways of doing it and i wasn't a fan, JMO.

Re: Speaking of speeches...
We had maid of honor and Best man only--toasted after first dance.
I had originally asked my dad too but then it kind of fell off the radar and we never planned for it.
I have seen more dad toasts at weddings outside of NY than here but think it's really nice when done!

I agree - we had 2 best men and my moh give a speech. Major problem was that the 1st best man babbled for what seemed like forever in a repetitive monologue in which he stated how he was glad that we were finally 'sealing the deal' - not only did people start talking, they started heckling him! The other two were short and to the point (Thank goodness).

The Best Man and Maid of Honor. I'm sure they will 'share' the speech because they are married.
