he did a sonogram of my ovaries, and did a blood tests to see my hormone levels and what not- the sonogram showed the most he said though. It told him whether my eggs were moving and good etc.... he also did one other test with a pap that he said would just further show that im good to go

Second that question! Every time I go to gyno she just tells me I'm fine but once I had a prob with my pills and I asked if that will cause problems with getting pregnant and she said prob not but anyways in order to find out if everything is 100% in that department women have to go through much more intensive tests and I've been wondering ever since

I'm actually shocked that they did this for you. I'm super paranoid, bordering on clinically insane hypochondriac, not joking either. I asked my dr. to do this 2 years ago, and she refused. They said that they cross that bridge when the patients come to it, i.e. start trying to conceive and nothing happens for a few months. They wouldn't do bloodwork, sonograms, nothing. So I'm really surprised they did that for you.

it still wont be 100 percent....but its def better to know!! Another thing i learned from those tests is that i had been on my birth control for so long that the hormones were affecting my body. I was getting a cist on one of my ovaries, that if kept growing would have affected getting pregnant. Since they saw it when it was small, we just changed my pill to a diff one and by the next time i went to see the dr it was gone!! so it was good for me to go to the dr for more than one reason

my dr knows im engaged, and knows when the wedding is. He is actually the partner of the guy who delivered me and was there in the room when i was born so i do have a really good relationship with him. Not only that, but he offered to give me pills a month before we start trying to conceive (eg when i get off the pill) to make sure my body is healthy enough. I dont remember the name of the pill, but its supposed to rid the body of toxins for the baby. He gave them to my mom before we were each conceived also.

Again second that. I'm also very paranoid and every little thing makes me wonder especially when hearing so many stories of ppl having trouble so I really wanted to be sure that whenever I’m personally ready I have the green light. But they told me the same thing only when u start trying and nothing happens for a while then we interfere

Interesting... I also had a problem with a cist when I was taking my previous pills and since then I switched pills. but they're able to see this in regular checkups don't they? a regular sonogram shows that or is there a need for special tests? I'm going for a checkup next month and want to make sure we cover everything and try to get the most tests out of this visit :)

That's so interesting that they do that! It's really good to know. My next visit is in 3 months and, out of curiosity, I'm going to ask the doctor to run these tests!
