Re: Special K Diet
The only reason it would work is because you are seriously restricting calories by only eating cereal for two meals of the day. It is just a marketing tool they came up with and not a sensible diet. Within a few days, you will be so sick of special k that you would go off the diet anyway. I think the best way to diet is just to increase your veggies every meal and start cooking things in healthier ways... i.e. bake not fry. Also, when choosing between two options, always eat the healthier one. But no special k diet. No one can eat that way forever.

Re: Special K Diet
I am so interested in diets just because Im a health nut! I wanted to see what it was all about and I tried it. Im 120 pounds 5'5 and I was STARVING!!!!! So yes this diet did work but I was so hungry! I couldnt stop thinking about food!
The best diet for me is the cut it in half diet. Eat what you want ( healthy ) but cut the portion! Drink lots of water, take a vitamin especially vitamin B!! Moderate excerise 30 min a day 3 days a week! Work out more if you want to see faster results.

Re: Special K Diet
Of course you're going to lose weight on the Special K diet--you're replacing two meals a day with freaking cereal. It's essentially a crash diet. The loss won't be sustainable once you go off the diet.
Better to eat healthfully--lots of fruits, veggies, lean proteins, and whole grains in reasonable portions--and get plenty of cardio and weight-bearing exercise.

Re: Special K Diet
it definitely worked and I cheated a lil bit. If I was still hungry after 1 bowl of cereal, I would have a second bowl. I wouldnt have more than that though. I plan on goin back to that in March or April before my wedding.

Re: Special K Diet
I haven't tried it, but I'm assuming it would work bc of the limit in calories you're taking in. I don't think it's the healthiest thing. If you were gonna do it, I would mix in some organic cereals with a little bit more nutritional value. Also be sure to add in lots of fresh fruits and veggies if you're gonna try it.

Re: Special K Diet
i knew a woman who once went on a 'Cheesecake Diet'. She wanted to prove that she could lose weight by restricting herself to ANY food (not just Special K). So for about 2 weeks she ate nothing but cheesecake for every meal. Nothing else at all. And she HAD lost a bunch of weight! lol. But then she began eating regular protein again, and within only a couple days, all the weight was back, plus some. So those kinds of things are useless. That's what even scares me about Jenny Craig. I know that it works, but they're basically feeding you. Once you're off, you have no idea how to eat in the real world, so instead of maintaining your weight, most people gain it right back. You just need to learn how to eat healthy. Cut out carbs. Seriously, I lost a LOT of weight, just by cutting out my starches.

Re: Special K Diet
I was on Special K and it DID work.. It actually put me on track to lose almost 40 lbs! I lost 7 lbs in the first two weeks and continued to lose weight (by eating regularly) over the next 3 months... When I was on Speical K, I purposely did NOT workout whatsoever...I ate the cereal, fruits and veggies and a big lunch everyday. Even sitll I lost 7 lbs in two weeks.. My body was so used to eating junk that eating unlimited fruits and veggies make me drop weight super fast! When my two weeks were up, I went back to eating three full (but healthy) meals and THEN I worked out 4 times a week.. Since I was eating the extra calories I wanted to burn as much off as possible. This routine worked really well for me, although it might not work for everyone! FM if you want to know any more info..I am actually hoping to start it up again soon so I can lose about 10 more lbs before the wedding!
***I wanted to edit it to say that while I was a bit hungry the first day it went away really fast for me. You are allowed to eat unlimited fruits and veggies so I ate a lot of carrots, cucumbers apples and bananas whenever I got hungry!
