specific gown alterations question

For those of you who have Oleg Cassini CKP421 from DB, I have a specific alterations question.

I'm worried about the reimbroidered lace motif on the front of the gown. I need it hemmed at least 6 inches, and I'm worried about how it will look.

For those of you who have this gown, and had to have it hemmed, how did it go?

Here's what the gown looks like:

Thanks!

Re: specific gown alterations question

Have you ordered it yet? Can DB order the dress with hollow to hem?

specific gown alterations question - Long Island Weddings

It's been in my possession since may. Unfortunately I don't fit into the petite size so I had to order the normal length. I'm 5'1' and with 3.5' heels it's still too long. I just don't want to lose any of the design at the bottom.

Re: specific gown alterations question

Maybe a seamstress can shorten it from the waist if the design isn't complicated there, I had that done for a dress once.
