Are you guys going to screen the speeches your bridal party makes prior to making them?

Re: Speeches
Only our BM did a speech but we trusted him not to say anything absurb or rude.
I would go by the people you chose, if you think they will totally embarrass you then I would screen them, if not then no

Re: Speeches
I don't plan on screening them. It's all in good fun and people know it's a wedding!!

Re: Speeches
Trust is the reason I asked my bestfriend to be my MOH and to deliver a speech. As expected she deliver a funny, 'informative' and thoughtful speech (its better that DH's best man )

Re: Speeches
Both my MOH and DH's BM made speeches at our wedding and we didn't feel the need to screen them----we trusted them not to say anything outrageous or rude.

Re: Speeches
Hopefully the person you choose to do a speech has enough sense to keep it classy and respectful. I think that keeping it surprise and hearing it at your wedding for the first time would be more special.

we are just asking them not to include anything crude or in poor taste, cussing etc.

Re: Speeches
Just emphasize what you don't want said and they should hopefully take a hint. That's what I am doing so I don't take away from the surprise. I would hope they would know better to keep it classy.

Re: Speeches
My problem is that I have two people in the BP who are dying to make a speech, however they have spoken at other weddings and have stated things that were embarrassing for the couple.
I don't know what to do since I don't want to insult them but I don't trust them to keep certain things confidential.

Re: Speeches
I wouldn't screen their actual speech, but I would only allot specific people to give speeches, I wouldn't want that many impromptu speeches to happen.

Re: Speeches
We didnt and I think whoever makes the speech should know well enough since its for a wedding not to say anything they shouldnt or might regret down the road.
