Speeches at reception

We did speeches after the first dance (but we did about two songs after the first dance). Why? Because our Banquet manager suggested that and she was spot on with everything, and my wedding was fantastic.

After the first dance - when most ppl will still be sober! LOL after that everyone can relax and have a good time. I wanna get all the formalities done early.

Speeches at reception

I feel like after the first dance is better, because once I'm on the dance floor and getting going, the last thing I want to do is to be told to sit down and listen to speeches.

Re: Speeches at reception

I think I've seen it done like right after dinner which is good too because people are sitting. I don't even know what I prefer because I don't really prefer them at all so hopefully they are kept short and sweet!

Speeches at reception

We have 2 MOHs and 2 BM. We are doing 2 speeches before dinner and 2 before dessert to break it up. 4 at once would be a little much.
