Hi girls! My FH and I have met with a bunch of photographers and have narrowed down our choices to Spelman Studios and Photography by Verdi. I was wondering if anyone used them or had any positive or negative feedback to share? Thanks a lot!!

We're using Christine at Spelman - I was very impressed with her work. She's very professional and organized. I never met with Verdi - so I can't give you a comparison - but we're pleased with Spelman so far.

Spelman studios, I'm using Carol. She took our engagement pics several weeks ago, they came out great (sorry, I don't have scanner yet to show you.).

I met with Spellman and loved Chritsine's style and personality. They wound up being my 2nd choice, and it was a difficult decision between them and Imagine.
I never met with Verdi, but they pictures I've seen by them are always beautiful.
I think either choice will be a good one!

We're using Spelman and really liked Christine and her work. We also met with Verdi, but felt that Christine included more in her package for the price and her work was just as nice. Both photographers do such beautiful work!

A friend of mine was not very happy with the way handled some things. I say go to Spellman. I have always heard good things about that studio.

Spelman It's really not a great website-she has many more examples of her work in the studio. her are a few of our proofs proofs

Michelle, that makes 2 of us, a friend of mine used Verdi and the way they treated her after the fact was so not nice. I think you have to go with who you are comfortable with. I think issues she had were, she did not get to choose what pix went in to her album, she wanted her negatives, it seem as if after they got her money it was so long don't call our office and come and get your book that you had no say in. We're using Verdi. We just clicked with them the from the beginning - they are so nice. And their work is exactly what we were looking for.
You get the negatives after a few years - some kind of legal thing. And you do get to choose the pictures that go in your album. You don't even pay the balance until you bring them your choices for the album.
You should go with whoever you are comfortable with since they will be with you the whole day.

We are using Verdi also and clicked with them right away. We will be getting the negatives after a year or so and yes we will have a choice in what pictures are put into our album. I'm sure they will make suggestions on what pictures they deem the best but the ulimate choice will be our own.
Any vendor you choose will have some negative and positive things about them. Your choice will depend on how comfortable you feel with them and if you are happy with their packages. Honestly one of the photography vendors that everyone loves here I found to be the most rude and insulting person I have met, but who knows it could have been an off day for him. Just ask lots of questions when you go and make sure the vendor is the 'one' for you. Good luck!!!!

We used Verdi for 12/28 wedding. I posted my review already of them. We didn't have any problems with them. We already picked up our proofs yesturday. The pictures came out so pretty. They were very professional to work with. We loved working with them.

I am trying to get through to spelman to talk to christine but her website has some weird error on it and its preventing me from sending her an email and when i go to call her its some recording that says her audio thing isnt on.
how much does she cost, how booked does she get (we're hoping to book for our Sept 18, 2004 wedding) what types of packages does she offer.
I am 90% positive we're going to look at her and probably book her. Everyone keeps telling me to look at a lot of photo people, but she came highly recommended and everyone has posted good things about her so I am confident that we'll book her.
Now if i could just get in touch with her so i can set up and appointment

Thanks girls for all your help! What many of you said is true. We have to go with someone we feel comfortable with. We are still deciding but I will let you know what happens.

Hi,
We are using Carol from Spelman. Christine did our engagement photos. We really like them. The engagement shots were taken at the Oakdale Arboratum. I don't think I am photogenic and I liked how the photos came out. Hope this helps
