Spelman Studios v. Capture The Moment?

Hey everyone, so I am currently stuck at a crossroads right now. I'm trying to decide which photographer/videographer to book and I have it narrowed down to two: Spelman Studios and Capture the Moment.

My decision is hard because for some reason, Spelman Studios has NO wedding trailers on their website, so I have no way to see the quality of their videography (something that is really important to me). Their photography work is gorgeous, I just want to make sure they have that last piece of the puzzle.

However, I have seen Capture the Moments photography AND videography and I love BOTH. They have shot at my venue before too, and the pictures came out outstanding. The only drawback is they require a 25% deposit, and me and my FH are only trying to leave a $500 cash deposit, which is what Spelman requires (another pro for them).

Can any of you help steer me in the right direction? I know that photographer and videographers are all based on preference, but I could really use some advice.

I wouldn't go with a company you're unsure of just because its a better payment option for you. You may end up really regretting it in the end. Maybe speak with Jessica at capture the moment and see if she'd allow you to leave a $500 deposit and explain your situation. And maybe contact spellman Nd ask if they can send you a few trailers so you can see what their work looks like. Never book a company without seeing examples of their work. It seems like you're really leaning toward CTM but are weary about the big deposit so really try to work on either scraping it together and maybe waiting a little longer to book the next vendor or see if she'll make an exception for you. Yea, I mean Spelman has beautiful photos up on their website, but videography is something I care a lot about and really want a beautiful video to remember the day, so before I booked with them I would definitely need to see some examples. If I loved their videography as well, I would definitely have no hesitation booking with them.

Everyone has been telling me that the girl at Capture the Moment is really understanding and willing to work with you, and I am really hoping that is true because I really do adore their work, so hopefully, she really can work with us.

I'm not sure how the deposits would work with this but what if you did photography with spelman and video with CTM but if you want just one company to do both I would definitely go with rcotter's response and talk to CTM to see about the deposit/ask spelman for a few trailers hopefully that will make it a little easier for you to choose

Believe it or not after further research and after speaking with another company, I'm going to be booking with a completely different photographer that I am totally and completely happy with! Lol it's going to be Foxlight Studios :)

We booked Foxlight for video and photo as well! We loved both and the photographers are really nice and wonderful to deal with thus far. We even got to meet the videographer one night( he is actually a part of a different company, White Tie, so he is not always at meetings) and he was super nice too!
