Spin Off: Father as best man?

Spin Off: Father as best man?

If you have seen this done (FI is having his dad as BM) then how are they announced for the reception? Usually it is the grooms parents, then bride's parents, bridal party, then BM and MH. So, does his dad get introduced twice, or does he get introduced at Parents of the Groom, and Best Man, blah blah blah? What do you think the best way of handling this is?

It's entirely up to you,but you can have him introduced as the BM with the MOH.. and the mom could be escorted by someone special, perhaps an uncle, grandfather or something.. =)

My father was my brother's Best Man during his wedding.

The reception annoucements left the Best Man for last (before MOH & Bride/Groom) so it was just 'Oscar's Best Man, Best Friend and Father...blah blah'

We annouced the wench (stepmother) solo.

Just as you would if they were divorced. It doesn't imply that the father isnt there or doesnt want to be annouced with the mother. No one thinks to think that.. and when you annouce him as Best Man its always heartening to know a father literally 'stands behind his son' 100% (I think the announcer said something like that).

Just a thought.

I am pretty sure my friends father was introduced with his wife as they came into the reception.

You can't be wrong here - however you want people introduced, that's how you should do it!

In all honesty, everyone is just waiting for the bride and groom to come in the room
