spin-off Q about big kitchen

BIG OPEN kitchen that is connected to living room....or smaller CLOSED kitchen that has a passing-divide thing to living room?

we had a house with a divider and now we have an open. If I had to choose, divider. people always are in the way when its open

I like the divider, but personally prefer like a breakfast bar type of thing, where you can be in the kitchen, but still see the other rooms. So like a half-divider.

thanks girls. no, definately not building anything, joanna! but we are looking at 2 different apartments now....

1 = big open kitchen and NEW appliance...but SMALL bedroom!!!!

2 = divided kitchen, OLDER appliances...and (substantially) MORE MONEY..

I'd go for #1, especially like how its the least expensive of the two. I have a small bedroom now, and it's quite fine. On the other hand our kitchen is small, and after the wedding I plan to do it over and open up the wall that divides the kitchen and living room. All in all, i feel like you spend more time in your kitchen and living room than your bedroom.
