Spin Off Registry--**POLL**

Original post by SoinLoveRwe2

Ok- so I am getting some feedback on this in a few posts- but I figured I'd put this up so that people could anonymously share their opinions if they are negative and there will be no drama....

What are your feelings on registering for your HM? I dont want to do something that my guests will find tacky. I know it will just be for our shower as that is when you get registry gifts... but is it too much like asking people for $$?

So, Vote here... and if you ARE registering for it- where are you registering!

Thanks girls.

How the heck do I edit the poll...I meant to write 'May not be tacky but I'd never do it,' but it didnt show on the screen since the line is so small and I can't fix it!!! LOL

i think its a cool idea......we already live together for awhile and we have LOTS of new things already - so that might be worthwhile for us to do as well...........older people may find it tacky so id do a small regular registry as well.....but who cares!! free HM stuff thats awesome!

you can also register at honeyluna.com-- fox 5 news did a blurb.

At first i wondered if it was tacky, then i asked around and it has gone over well. Times have changed and many of us have lived together with our FH for a long time, I could register for things I already have but I wouldn't feel right throwing away applainces just because I got a new one. I've also really enjoyed the whole Interior design stage and we really don't need anything. I've kind of spread the word on why i'm doing this so my guests understand where i'm coming from and that I gave it the 'tacky or not tacky' contemplation

TOTALLY agree... I'm going to put a blurb on our wedding website as to why we registered in each place so that people know why!

I like the idea...especially if you don't have need for a traditional registry...

We're still going to register at Fortunoffs and Crate and Barrell- this way anyone who is not comfortable with our HM registry will still have an idea of what we like!! But we'll do small registries, we really don't need much. Every inch of my house is decorated and has something that is meant to be there... thanks to like 6 MILLION trips to Home Goods!! lol

My opinion....if you and FH already live together, and you don't need tons of stuff, go for it! Get some massages, go water skiing, hiking, etc.....however, if you are moving into a house or apartment together, I think that asking for 'home' stuff is more beneficial to you two! I know that I will not ask for HM stuff since FH and I have a house to furnish and accessorize! lol

I agree... I WISH we would have had a shower when we moved in together- we would have saved a TON!!!! I can't imagine going to a party and coming home with ALL of the things that it took me years to accumulate!! LOL

Just be aware of some of the registry sites. Some sites pocket a percentage of the $$ your guests give. They aren't supossed to so READ THE FINE PRINT! FYI
