I wanted to make a memorial candle for FHs dad and my grandfather, who both passed just a few months ago.
I went to buy the supplies the other day, but then I started thinking- what about my grandmother (my dad's mother) who passed away years ago, and FHs grandmother- who also passed a few months back, but whom I never met and he wasn't close to, and his uncle who dies a few years ago...
I don't want anyone to think we are discounting people if we don't put candles for everyone...but they start adding up!
I left the store with nothing, cause I wasn't sure what to do...
If I had it my way- it would be FHs dad, my grandfather and my grandmother. I never met his grandmother or uncle, but I would feel bad leaving them out.
Did anyone else have this issue?
I seem to have to obsess over every little detail- I swear I'm giving myself an ulcer

Re: Spin-off to memorial Candles...
Why not just do a generic memorial candle? Just say something about remembering all the people who couldn't be there to celebrate with you.

I agree with Laura. Its not an easy thing to do and you don't want to leave just anyone out.

Re: Spin-off to memorial Candles...
that's what I'm doing, using a generic message on the candle.....BUT I am including pics of the grandparents & my dad.....so I guess w/ the generic message then it can include anyone else.

Re: Spin-off to memorial Candles...
You could do one candle with all the names. I am doing one for FH's dad and reg tapered candles for all the grandparents.

Yup we ulitemly decided not to do one at all but a good alternative would be to do one with something like 'In Memory of those who could not be here with us today' HTH
