Spin-off to Mer's post

So one couple gave us $318 for the wedding, they are not Jewish but they knew that 18 meant chai and was good luck, etc. etc. Anyways, their wedding is in a month (unfortunately we cannot attend because we'll be on our HM) but what do we give them---$318 back? They aren't Jewish! Do we just give $300 or round to 320? I feel strange giving $318 to people getting married in a church!

... even if she's not going?!

we got between $50 and $200 from our no's. I'd probably give $200-ish since they were generous at your wedding.

def not a multiple of 18, though ... as you said, it's weird to give that to people getting married in a church.

Okay thanks guys, think I may just go with the $325, sounds nice and round!

We actually received the same amount as we gave to 2 couples that couldn't make it to our wedding, so I don't think I'll adjust even though we can't attend.

Yeah, it was nice of them to do the $18 but I wouldn't reciprocate that part, as they are not Jewish. I would give $300 or $325.
